Achromin cream for age spots: price in the pharmacy, instructions for use, reviews

Achromin is a cream produced in Bulgaria and is included in the category of medicinal and cosmetic products. The main effect of the drug is aimed at protecting the skin from ultraviolet radiation and acts as an inhibitor of melanin synthesis. This budget product is used to solve problems with the appearance of the skin. Achromin cream is one of the most effective solutions for age spots.

Compound

Regardless of the manufacturer, the cream has a delicate, uniform white consistency with a light rose aroma.

It spreads well over the skin and is quickly absorbed.

The only caveat is that the product leaves greasy marks.

Achromin is produced (Bulgaria) from the following components:

  • lactic acid – the substance provides a whitening effect;
  • licorice extract – promotes regeneration, eliminates pigmentation, freckles;
  • rose aroma - used as a fragrance;
  • mineral oil, glycerin - soften the effect of the cream;
  • sodium chloride – removes excess moisture, removes swelling;
  • tocopherol – a powerful antioxidant;
  • wheat germ oils - intense hydration and nutrition;
  • stearic acid – protects the epidermis from negative factors.

Pharmacology

The product creates reliable protection from sunlight.

The active substances act as inhibitors of melanin synthesis on age spots, which are caused by age-related changes or excessive production of the main hormone of the pineal gland.

Several components of the composition have whitening properties.

The main role is still given to licorice extract .

A substance of natural origin is often used in cosmetology due to the following qualities:

  • whitening effect;
  • ability to soothe irritated skin;
  • anti-edematous and anti-inflammatory effects;
  • influence on the regeneration process, etc.

Properties of achromin ointment for skin whitening

Achromin is a universal drug aimed at combating skin imperfections. Its main and auxiliary components help eliminate the following problems:

  • lighten pigmented areas of the skin that appear in a woman during pregnancy;
  • discolor chloasma formed due to increased melanin production;
  • whiten freckles and prevent their reappearance;
  • remove all manifestations of hyperpigmentation;
  • protect ultraviolet-sensitive skin from sunlight;
  • treat age spots caused by age-related changes in the body;
  • make acne marks invisible.

Pigmentation is a problem for many people, which can cause psychological discomfort and spoil appearance. The achromin composition is able to carefully solve the problem, cleanse the face and give the perfect tone.

Effect of use

The cosmetic product is used for medicinal and prophylactic purposes.

After a course of use, the following effect is noted:

  • the complexion is evened out;
  • pigment spots are eliminated (freckles, acne marks, age-related pigmentation - lentigo);
  • protection against ultraviolet radiation is created;
  • the tan is lightened by several tones;
  • epidermal tissues are moisturized, skin condition improves due to intensive nutrition.

To get a positive result, it is recommended to start using the cream before the onset of spring - around the end of February. Such prevention is appropriate for people prone to hyperpigmentation during solar activity.

Indications for use

The cosmetic cream is used to solve the following skin problems:

  • numerous age spots (including freckles, spots after pregnancy), signs of age-related changes (lentigo);
  • scars after dermatological diseases, acne marks;
  • keratinized surface;
  • UV protection;
  • intense tan.

Scope of application of Achromin cream

The drug has a whitening effect on the skin. The product is recommended for use by people with freckles, age-related pigmentation and spots that appear as a result of other unfavorable factors. The composition treats and at the same time prevents the appearance of new formations. Serves as reliable protection against ultraviolet radiation.

Pigmentation can be hereditary or acquired. The main factors contributing to its appearance:

  • mature age;
  • hormonal imbalance as a result of puberty or pregnancy;
  • malfunctions of the gallbladder, kidneys, liver;
  • stress, depression.

Under the influence of ultraviolet radiation, the epidermis begins to actively produce melanin.
You can stop this process and even out the tone with the help of creams. Achromin whitening ointment is suitable for all skin types. Regular use allows you to eliminate not only freckles, but also uneven tone, sagging, scar formation and other cosmetic defects. The drug contains vitamin antioxidants that improve skin turgor and fight signs of aging.

Application area:

  • numerous age spots, lentigo;
  • protection from ultraviolet radiation;
  • visible scars after skin diseases;
  • keratinized surface;
  • intense tan.

Achromin for age spots

The composition of the cream from the Turkish manufacturer is not much different.

It includes the following chemical compounds:

  • vitkonol ARM;
  • paraffin;
  • protegin X;
  • trilon VD, V;
  • parsol MSKh;
  • sodium metabisulfite;
  • euthanol G.

Substances also used: lanolin, rose fragrance, lactic acid.

The main active ingredient that provided the whitening effect until a certain time was hydroquinone .

This is a powerful compound that penetrates well into the layers of the epidermis to prevent melanin from staining skin cells.

This is achieved by blocking the work of tyrosinase . Without this enzyme, melanin cannot reach keratinocides.

However, after a series of studies, it was discovered that hydroquinone can provoke serious adverse reactions, as a result of which the spot begins to darken instead of lightening (in medicine this is called ochronosis ).

In addition, scientists have suggested that the toxic substance can provoke benign formations. Such cases were recorded during clinical experiments on laboratory rats.

Considering the dangers involved, hydroquinone has been banned in many countries.

Currently, safer substances are used in the production of Achromin. The place of the toxic compound was taken by licorice extract .

In fairness, it is worth stating the fact that the substitute is inferior to hydroquinone in terms of effectiveness. This is confirmed by reviews from cosmetologists and ordinary users.

A cream that whitens freckles and age spots is well accepted by skin of any type. Only hypersensitive skin can react with irritation .

If such a reaction occurs, it is recommended to suspend treatment of the spots for up to 1 week.

To obtain the desired effect, pigment spots should be treated twice a day . The recommended dosage is a thin layer of cream at the location of the cosmetic problem.

Composition of Achromin: dispelling myths

Dermatologists and cosmetologists say that you can get rid of hyperpigmentation only if you eliminate its cause. These may be hormonal imbalances, diseases of internal organs, age-related changes and other factors. Creams, including Achromin, have only an auxiliary effect, helping to make age spots less noticeable.

Due to hormonal imbalances, hyperpigmentation can bother girls during pregnancy.

Why do women who remember the good whitening effect of Achromin from the times of the USSR lament that the modern cream is no longer the same? Because the products available for purchase today do not contain hydroquinone.

Hydroquinone is a substance that provides whitening properties by blocking the production of melanin, a coloring pigment. Due to toxicity, its use is prohibited in Europe in cosmetics and medicines.

Previously, Achromin cream was my salvation from freckles and age spots; it was one of the most inexpensive, but at the same time the most effective whitening creams. But lately it has become not so strong, no matter how much you apply it. It still takes on freckles a little, and only on young skin - my daughter used it, and it whitened her freckles a little, but it couldn’t handle my freckles and age spots. Although there were times when I didn’t just apply it twice a day—I smeared it three times. And no effect. So I gave it to my daughter, I don’t need it anyway.

In Soviet times, Achromin was produced under the brand name Alen Mak (Bulgarian plant VetProm). However, in 2013–2017. The domestic company buys VetProm and the Achromin brand. Therefore, modern girls have access to creams with this name from 3 manufacturing plants owned by Dominanta-Service:

  • VetProm, brand Alen Mak (Bulgaria);
  • "RealCosmetics" (Russia);
  • Kozas kozmetik Kimya end Ve Tic AS (Türkiye).

Due to the fact that the cream is produced by different factories, there was confusion that I was never able to fully understand. At first I noticed that the composition of the Turkish and Bulgarian products is identical. But in one of the reviews, the girl took a photo of the packaging, and everything fell into place: recently the Turkish Kozas kozmetik Kimya end Ve Tic AS has been manufacturing products for Alen Mak. As far as I understand, Achromin is no longer produced under the Alen Mak brand, but you can still find “remnants” on the shelves.

Now, instead of hydroquinone, other approved bleaching substances are used in the composition of the products.

If you compare product packaging released in different years, you will notice differences in composition. This article provides information from 2019.

After analyzing the composition using an online cosmetics checking service, we found that all products contain ingredients of synthetic origin that are potentially harmful to the skin:

  • strong allergens (Propylene Glycol, Propylparaben, Methylisothiazolinone, Triethanolamine, etc.);
  • potential carcinogens (Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, etc.);
  • film formers that can clog pores (Dimethicone, Paraffinum Liquidum, Petrolatum, etc.);
  • ingredients that cause skin irritation (Cyclopentasiloxane, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Carbomer, etc.).

I bought Achromin (Bulgaria) anti-pigmentation cream at a pharmacy. This is my first time buying this cream - I decided to try to remove residual effects from pimples, pigmentation on the cheeks and chin. The cream is white and thick. It applies well, but is not very absorbed. It remains on the face like a mask, a little sticky. The cream really brightens the face and removes pigmentation - the result is visible even after five days. But this cream clogged the pores on my chin, the wings of my nose and between my eyebrows. I barely cleaned it. The cream can be used as a mask, but then it is advisable to remove it with cleansing milk and tonic. I have combination skin with a T-zone. For dry and normal skin, the cream may be suitable and not cause such reactions. The cream is not bad - in the morning the face is fresh and bright. With regular use of this cream, you need to carefully monitor the condition of the pores - otherwise there may even be inflammatory processes. I apply the cream in courses for only a few minutes, maximum 30 minutes as a mask.

This is what a Bulgarian-made cream looks like, it is no longer produced, but is still occasionally found on sale

Now its Bulgarian counterpart is being replaced by Turkish-made cream

Here is another variation of the Turkish Achromin

RealCosmetics, under the Achromin brand, produces not only whitening creams, but also other products

Achromin ointment does not exist; this is what the cream is sometimes mistakenly called.

To eliminate the effects of hyperpigmentation, you need to follow the following rules:

  • for deeper penetration of active compounds, a steaming compress (a napkin soaked in hot water/herbal decoction) is applied to the face before the procedure;

Reviews

Daria, 26 years old:

After childbirth, pigment spots remained on my face. The picture became even more terrifying when the sun became more active in the spring. The dermatologist advised to use Achromin.

I applied the cream to dark spots every day.

I noticed the first effect after two weeks. In total, it took about a month to eliminate the cosmetic problem.

Mikhail, 30 years old:

I treated my freckles with everything. The effect, if achieved, did not last long. Once, on the recommendation of a friend, I tried Achromin cream. The composition then included a component such as hydroquinone.

After a 10-day course, most of the freckles disappeared. I continued to use the product for another week. 2 years later, at the beginning of summer, the face was again dotted with small brown spots.

I bought Achromin and was disappointed due to the lack of effect. Only later did I find out that hydroquinone was no longer included in the composition due to toxicity.

Albina, 34 years old:

I chose whitening cream to combat freckles. Every spring the problem worsens. I tried a lot of creams until I came across Achromin based on licorice.

After three weeks of treatment, the face brightened, the dryness disappeared, and small wrinkles evened out. I'm happy with the result!

Contraindications

The cream contains a toxic component. Due to the strong effect on the epidermis, the problem quickly goes away, but there are side effects and contraindications.

The cream should not be used in the following situations:

  1. Individual intolerance to the drug.
  2. Children under 12 years old.
  3. Pregnancy and lactation period.
  4. Severe side effects from early use of the drug.

The first symptoms that Achromin cream is not suitable for humans appear within a few hours after use. If this happens, then next time you can try using the product in a week. If this happens the next time, it means Achromin is not suitable for use. Also read about other anti-pigmentation creams in this material.

Side effects: swelling, itching, irritation, redness.

Analogs

Achromin has no structural analogue.

But an identical pharmacological effect can be achieved using the following means:

  • licorice root – 50 rub. (for preparing tincture);
  • lactic acid 40% – 49 rubles;
  • tincture of calendula – 22 rubles;

  • Achroactive Max – 190 rub.;
  • Astramin – 150 rubles;
  • Expigment – 1380 rub.

You should not fight age spots with untested creams. This can cause serious damage to the skin.

Adequate treatment can only be prescribed by a specialist who takes into account the etiology of the problem, the characteristics of the body and the composition of the chosen remedy.

Contraindications and harm

The drug is contraindicated for use in the following cases:

  • persons under 12 years of age;
  • if you have an allergic reaction to its components;
  • if side effects appear after the first use;
  • when you plan to leave the room earlier than two hours after application.

If you are not careful about the restrictions recommended by the manufacturer, the cream can cause the following side effects:

  • severe and prolonged itching;
  • various rashes;
  • severe persistent redness;
  • allergic reaction in any kind and form;
  • swelling of the areas of the skin where the product was applied.

If after the first use slight irritation was noticed, then you can take a break for 5-6 days and try to use the product again, applying it once a day. If complications appear again, then it is prohibited to use it.

Attention! Experts have evidence that large concentrations of Achromin are toxic to the body and can cause destruction of epidermal cells.

And this, in turn, can provoke the occurrence of diseases such as melanoma and ochronosis.
