Ryazhenka: energy drink, antibiotic and rejuvenating agent in one drink
:
In Armenia this product is called “matsun”, in Tataria - “katyk”, in Georgia - “matsoni”, in Egypt - “leben”, in Norway - “funeral milk”. And, despite the fact that the production methods and even the taste of these drinks vary, they are all made from milk and have a divine, delicate, sour taste.

This product is prepared by simmering, and this process in Ukraine is called “spinning,” which is where the name of the drink comes from. In addition to its excellent taste, fermented baked milk at home can become both a doctor and a personal cosmetologist.

Benefits for hair
Ryazhenka is an indispensable product for girls who want to restore shine and strength to their curls. It fills dry and lifeless strands with moisture, making them more elastic and manageable.
The product can be used after damage due to perms, coloring, heat styling, etc. If you find that your curls have become dull, have lost volume and have begun to fall out rapidly, start therapy without delay.
It will bring the following results:
- the roots will become stronger, the strands will begin to fall out less;
- increase growth by accelerating metabolic processes in the follicles;
- the hair will be easier to style and comb;
- the surface of the hairs will be leveled, they will become soft and fluffy;
- split ends will disappear;
- the scalp will stop itching and flaking.
However, it is worth considering that all fermented milk products (kefir, yogurt, yoghurt, fermented baked milk) are rich in acids. These substances have lightening properties. If you have black hair, it is better to choose another treatment option or add neutralizers to the composition that will help protect the color (cocoa, cognac, oak bark decoction).
Also, those with very oily scalps should not use the product, as it can increase sebum production.

Everything new is well forgotten old
In modern society, and especially in personal care, natural products and ingredients are gaining momentum in popularity.
Demand creates supply, and today most cosmetics are made based on natural ingredients according to “grandmother’s recipes.” It cannot do without chemical components, for example, Omega acids, proteins, etc. You can achieve excellent results using exclusively natural ingredients, and masks, rinses and decoctions can be prepared at home.
For each specific problem, there is a certain combination of plants, the regular use of which can solve the problem. The most important thing is to follow all the rules for their manufacture and use.
In this case, the result will not take long to arrive and will be little different from cosmetic procedures in a salon.
The masks were made from beer, fermented baked milk, rye bread and other time-tested products. Rye bread was fermented in boiling water for 3 hours, the resulting mixture was rubbed into the scalp and left on the head for 2 hours. After which they washed their hair.
Chicken eggs were used to nourish the hair. To prepare it, you need to use a quarter glass of boiled water at room temperature and vodka, mix the egg yolk into the resulting mixture. Using this mask is especially recommended for women with dry and brittle hair.
Various vegetable oils and dairy products also have unsurpassed results on their condition:
Studying the advice of our ancestors, it is difficult to ignore head massage, which was recommended to stimulate hair growth, the use of natural remedies and, to varying degrees, a combination of them. In beauty salons, every master knows where the most important points are located, and when washing his hair he does not bypass them. But our ancestors used a completely different type of massage, no less effective.
Women sat on a chair and lowered their heads so that their necks were exposed. The main massage movements (circular, straight, spiral) began from the collar area, and gradually moved to the temples, and then to the back of the head. The main condition is that all massage movements must be soft and gentle, while the hands must be moistened with any natural oil, preferably burdock. After the massage, it is recommended to use a brush with soft bristles.
In addition to massage, “grandmother’s” recipes for hair growth and various masks or compresses were effective.
The following herbs were used in the recipes:
- coltsfoot;
- chamomile;
- birch leaves (decoctions from brooms that were used in the bathhouse);
- mint (melisa);
- calamus
We must not forget about simple products that had a stimulating effect on growth processes: dairy products (whey, yogurt, kefir, sour cream, fermented baked milk), beer, kvass (due to the content of yeast and hops), honey, mustard, chicken egg yolk.
To prevent hair loss, decoctions of oak bark and onion peels were used. The components were boiled separately, and only after cooling were they mixed and used as a rinse after each hair wash.
An excellent cleanser and at the same time stimulating agent for growth was salt, which is suitable even for dry scalps, and especially oily ones. After washing your hair with regular running water, rub salt into your scalp for 15 to 20 minutes. Afterwards, they thoroughly washed their hair and used apple cider vinegar as a rinse, which gave natural shine and silkiness to the hair and made combing easier.
Grandma's recipes against hair loss
Since ancient times, an onion mask has been used against hair loss, which irritates the scalp, thereby stimulating metabolic processes. There are quite a few recipes for such a mask, and each of them will be effective.
But most often, they mix a large onion, pureed (with a blender or grater), with honey, yolk and a spoonful of any vegetable or cosmetic oil (olive, castor, mustard or burdock), and add red ground hot paprika to the mixture on the tip of a knife.
For the best effect of the mask, it is necessary to create a greenhouse effect - cover your head with polyethylene and a towel, and leave for 60 minutes.
It’s hard to argue with the effectiveness of this mask; in addition to stimulating growth, it gives hair shine, restores its structure, has a stimulating effect on the metabolic processes of the scalp, etc. The only negative of this mixture is the persistent smell of onions for several days.
The mustard mask, which also has several recipes, has a similar stimulating effect. It is worth remembering that only mustard powder is suitable for its preparation, and the mask itself is applied only to contaminated hair. You can only wash it off with warm water: the fact is that due to the irritating effect of mustard, the scalp becomes too sensitive to various kinds of irritants.
For the mask, mix 2 tablespoons of mustard powder, granulated sugar, with an equal amount of vegetable or cosmic oil, and one yolk.
Sugar serves as a catalyst for mustard - it enhances its effect, therefore, the more sugar you add to the mask, the more the scalp will burn. Deterioration of hair condition - loss of shine, split ends, hair loss - is more of an internal problem than an external one, and to achieve a full result, you cannot use medicinal herbs alone - this is not enough.
It is recommended to review your diet, drinking regimen, treat chronic intestinal diseases, and, of course, take vitamins with a special emphasis on vitamins B and A. Healthy hair is an indicator of well-being throughout the body.

Cooking fermented baked milk
All fermented milk products prepared independently contain much more valuable substances than those offered to us in supermarkets. In addition to useful ingredients, store-bought fermented baked milk contains added flavors, sweeteners, thickeners and other chemicals that are not beneficial to hair or health.
A better option is to make the base for the masks yourself. To do this, we use simple instructions:
- Pour a liter of milk, preferably homemade, into an enamel, ceramic or stainless steel pan. Place on medium heat and bring to a boil.
- We reduce the flame to minimum, cover the dish with a lid and leave the liquid to simmer for an hour.
- Move the pan to the oven and keep it at low temperature for another half hour.
- Take out the mixture, let it cool to a temperature of 30-37°C, add two tablespoons of rich sour cream, stir.
- We leave the composition in a warm place for 6-8 hours, it should turn sour. You can use a regular thermos for this.
The finished product can be eaten or used to make cosmetics. It will contain the maximum amount of nutrients and restorative substances.
The fresher the fermented baked milk, the more benefits it will have. If the whey begins to flake off too much, it is better to prepare a new portion.
Hair mask made from fermented baked milk or other fermented milk products
Natural products are special gifts of nature that help maintain beauty and health longer - so a hair mask made from fermented baked milk can quickly restore damaged strands and is suitable for every type of curl. Ryazhenka, like any fermented milk product, contains a large amount of vitamins and special components that perfectly restore and strengthen hair of any length.
Interestingly, it was first invented to cook ryazhenka in Ukraine in special clay pots, where baked milk and butter were made.
Thanks to calcium, potassium, phosphorus and a large amount of protein, a hair mask made from fermented baked milk protects hair from loss, strengthens the roots and takes care of the ends (“Nourishing mask for damaged and weakened hair”).
Ryazhenka is also good because it suits hair of any type and additionally lightens the strands slightly, like kefir, and in principle is almost identical to kefir, but due to its density it is more often used in hair masks.
To make a nourishing mask, just add chopped banana or avocado pulp to fermented baked milk. For a toning mask, you can add orange or lemon juice (“Orange mask for nourishing and toning hair”). It must also be said that fermented baked milk hair masks are great for unruly and curly hair, as they pacify the riot of curls well and additionally nourish hair of this unusual type.
Hair mask made from fermented baked milk and specially selected oils
To prepare such a healthy hair mask, you need half a glass of fermented baked milk, a few drops of olive, burdock and castor oils. Mix everything and apply it to your hair for half an hour.
For the best effect, you need to cover your hair first with a special cap and then with a towel so that the mask does not leak. You can additionally direct a stream of warm air onto the mask to enhance the effect.
Once the time is up, the mask can be washed off with warm water using shampoo or any other product (“Hops for hair growth - method of application and effectiveness”).
Mask of fermented baked milk and oatmeal
Oatmeal in combination with fermented baked milk works real miracles with damaged and weakened hair, and also additionally strengthens split ends and dry hair (“Care for split ends and brittle hair”).
In order to prepare such a mask, you need to grind oatmeal into flour and mix with fermented baked milk to form a viscous mass. After this mixture can be applied to the hair, paying special attention to the roots.
After about 15 minutes, you can wash off the mask and rinse your hair in any usual way.
Hair mask made from fermented baked milk and honey
To restore hair after dyeing or perming (“Care for thin and thin hair”), you can make such a useful hair mask. It is based on fermented baked milk, a few spoons of honey and two eggs. All components of the mask are mixed well and applied to the hair for a quarter of an hour. After using this mask, your hair looks good, has a healthy shine and strength, and holds any style perfectly.
You can also add hair vitamins in capsules to the mask, which you can buy at the pharmacy. This will give an additional moisturizing effect, which is necessary for each hair type to one degree or another.
When creating a hair mask from fermented baked milk, you need to remember that the composition must be used immediately, since during storage the mask loses most of its beneficial properties. Also, when cleansing your hair, sometimes you may need to wash off the mask several times, since fermented baked milk penetrates deeply into the hair and can give a greasy effect. Have you already tried making a mask of fermented baked milk for your hair?

Mask recipes
Masks based on fermented milk products have virtually no contraindications. The exception is personal intolerance to the components. You should be careful with dermatitis, especially those accompanied by pustular rashes. In this case, you need to consult a doctor before starting therapy.
Owners of quickly becoming salty roots should also be vigilant. In such a situation, it is necessary to add components to the formulations that neutralize the increased production of sebum.
Let's get acquainted with the most effective and simple means.
Strengthening and prevention
We will need 100-150 ml of fermented baked milk, depending on the thickness and length of the curls. It needs to be heated in a water bath and applied to the roots and strands before washing. We put a polyethylene cap on top or wrap it in cling film and insulate it with a towel. Leave for 40 minutes, wash off with shampoo. To improve the effect, rinse with chamomile infusion or acidified water (1 tablespoon of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar per 2 cups of liquid).
The mask improves the condition of your hair literally after the first use. The hair becomes denser, as the protein fills the voids in the cuticle, and acquires shine and elasticity.
The roots are strengthened due to increased nutrition and accelerated metabolism. The ends stop splitting because they receive enough moisture. For preventive purposes, the product is used once a week.
Eliminating the section
Add a tablespoon of castor and olive oil to a glass of fermented milk drink. We send the composition to a water bath and heat it up. Add the beaten raw egg, making sure it does not curdle. Apply to the skin and along the entire length, especially carefully treating the ends. Keep the mask warm for 40 minutes, rinse with shampoo. We repeat the procedure 2 times a week.
Fighting split hair at home with this mask is very simple and effective. The composition nourishes and moisturizes curls, retains moisture in them, envelops them with a protective film and evens out their length.
Reviews from girls confirm that the hair acquires a glossy shine and becomes well-groomed from roots to ends.
For dullness and oiliness
Soak a small piece of rye bread in 200 ml of warm fermented baked milk. Leave for 7-10 minutes, knead the crumb well to form a mushy mass. We rub it into the dermis and roots, insulate the head for half an hour. Wash off without shampoo with non-hot water.
The composition is suitable for oily hair, since bread regulates the functioning of the sebaceous glands and eliminates rapid clumping of the roots. It also returns shine and elasticity to the curls, making them flowing and smooth. You can apply the mask 1-2 times a week.
To strengthen and restore
Mix a tablespoon of warm fermented baked milk with half a ripe banana, mashed into a paste with a fork, and a tablespoon of liquid honey. If desired, you can supplement the composition with a couple of drops of lavender or rosemary ether. Apply the product to the roots and distribute the remainder evenly along the length. Keep it under a warming cap for half an hour, wash it off with shampoo.
The product promotes rapid regeneration of damaged hair. It contains all the vitamins necessary for cell restoration, phytohormones, natural antibiotics and antioxidants.
If you use the mask 2 times a week, you will quickly notice improvements: your curls will become supple, soft and strong.
To activate growth
Add 5 g of “live” yeast to the heated fermented baked milk and leave it warm for 15 minutes. Add half a teaspoon of mustard powder and a tablespoon of castor oil and mix. We distribute the composition only on the roots; you can gently rub it into the skin with massaging movements. Leave it warm for 10-15 minutes, depending on your own feelings. If you feel a burning sensation earlier, you don’t need to endure it, immediately wash off the mask with water and shampoo.
The product contains powerful growth activators that trigger metabolic processes in the follicles and accelerate the saturation of cells with oxygen. Mustard has warming properties; it increases blood flow to the scalp.
You will see results after a couple of weeks of regular use of the mask. It should be abandoned in cases of violation of the integrity of the dermis.
Stopping hair loss
We will need colorless henna, take one package and fill it with 75 ml of warm fermented baked milk. Add the egg, preheated in water, and mix well with a fork. Rub into the roots and distribute along the length, leave under a warm towel for 1 hour. Wash off with cool water and shampoo, and additionally apply conditioner.
If there is excessive hair loss, the mask should be applied at least twice a week. If your hair does not grow much, limit yourself to one procedure every 5 days.
You can notice improvements after 5-6 sessions. Curls will become softer to the touch, shiny and well-groomed. You will begin to notice less and less lost hair on your brush and clothes.
Composition and properties of fermented baked milk
It is made at home by fermenting milk and cream, simmered over low heat. On a production scale, special strains of bacteria are used. The natural product has a balanced composition, is easily digestible, and has no side effects. Fermented baked milk contains organic acids, protein, and vitamins.
The thick consistency is convenient for application to the hair, is quickly absorbed into the scalp, and does not require the use of additional products when rinsing. Ryazhenka is used in its pure form and as a basis for complex masks. Regular use:
- helps strengthen hair follicles and stop massive hair loss;
- nourishes and strengthens the structure, prevents the appearance of split ends;
- restores elasticity and adds volume;
- tones;
- protects from aggressive external environment;
- stimulates cell renewal.
The beneficial effect is noticeable after 3-4 procedures, the hair structure improves, it becomes shiny, manageable, and stronger. Products based on fermented baked milk are very useful for dry, brittle, weakened and colored hair.
Important: the high content of phosphorus and riboflavin maintains the health of the strands, supplying the necessary material for full regeneration.

How to cook fermented baked milk at home?
Recipes for making fermented milk products yourself:
- With sour cream sourdough. Place a clay pot without a lid with 1.5 liters of milk in a cold oven, set the temperature regulator to +180°C, and when the foam rises and a brown crust forms, pour it in with a wooden spoon. After such a crust has already formed 4-5 times, remove the dishes from the oven, cool so that the palm feels warm, remove the hard foam with a slotted spoon and stir in 3 tbsp. l. sour cream. Place in the oven for another 7 hours, setting the regulator to +170°C.
- With sour cream and yolk. Place 1.3 liters of milk in the oven at +200°C and leave until the amount of liquid has reduced by 1/3, dropping the brown foam. Then they are laid out on a saucer. Using a mixer, beat the yolk and a pinch of sugar into half a glass of sour cream. Pour the starter into the baked milk, stir, pour into separate jars, carefully placing a piece of foam on the surface. Cool the oven to +40°C and leave for 3.5-4 hours.
- In a slow cooker. 1 liter of milk is poured into the bowl. Set the “stewing” mode and increase the cooking time to 6 hours. Cool to +40°C and stir in 50 g of sour cream. Leave it on the heat for another 1 hour, and then turn it off and let it rest for 8-9 hours at room temperature without opening the lid. It is more convenient to start cooking in the evening.
