The beautiful roundness of a woman's bust has inspired artists, poets and sculptors from time immemorial. Causes of sagging breasts (more about the important ones)
1) Gravity (attraction) is the first cause of premature breast drooping.

From a physiological point of view, this is explained by the action of the force of attraction, which increases in proportion to the weight of the body (the object on which it influences), i.e. For those who don’t understand what I’m talking about, let me explain...
Due to the large weight of the breasts, these breasts can sink down, which will cause their subsequent noticeable sagging. In other words, the large mammary glands descend because they are constantly affected by gravity, and the ligamentous apparatus is not able to support so much weight. Do you understand?
By the way, this phenomenon is also observed in girls/women who have undergone surgical operations to increase breast size by more than two sizes.
Now do you understand why smaller breasts are less prone to sagging?
2) Aging of the body and gland tissues in particular.
As the structures wear down, the skin and ligaments become less elastic.
This in turn leads to mastoptosis, in which the tissue of the gland itself (this tissue that maintains the elasticity of the breast) begins to gradually lose its strength, i.e. it moves down, and its upper contour becomes blurry, so you have sagging.
Actually, this happens for some earlier, for others later, it all depends on the individual characteristics and lifestyle of a particular girl/woman.
3) Pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding are also one of the reasons why breasts become saggy.
By the way, this reason is almost the main one for most girls/women.
Let's talk about everything in order, during pregnancy itself, a woman's breasts increase, actually because of this, i.e. Due to excess weight in the chest, it can sag.
But! Most often, prolapse of the mammary glands occurs after childbirth, when a woman breastfeeds her baby, this is the so-called natural feeding.
So, with this natural feeding, the baby, grasping the mother’s nipple, gradually pulls her breast down. Actually, the longer the process of such feeding continues, the greater the likelihood that the breast will not recover on its own, i.e. in the future, it simply simply remains in this position (state).

Interesting fact: in women who become pregnant at a younger age, the tissues are more elastic, therefore, after childbirth and breastfeeding, the breasts recover more actively than in those who gave birth to a child after thirty years.

Why do breasts change?
The mammary gland consists of 15-20 glandular lobules, a connective tissue “framework” and adipose tissue.
During puberty in girls, under the influence of hormones, breast growth and development of lobules occur. This process ends around the age of 20, when the breasts acquire their final shape and size. The mammary gland changes throughout the cycle, swelling before menstruation and shrinking after it. This happens under the influence of hormones. Breast deformation during a woman’s life is caused by either laxity of the skin or insufficient support of the mammary gland by the pectoral muscles. After all, the breast is, first of all, a gland, the location and elasticity of which determines its shape. Our “beauties” are located on the pad - a thin layer of fat; If your body is in an incorrect position—a crooked back and shoulders, or a static position (sitting in front of a monitor), the pectoral muscles simply weaken. Therefore, the first thing to do is to take care of the general condition of the muscles, “tighten up your back,” and take care of your posture.
But the mammary gland changes most during pregnancy. During this period, the breasts prepare for lactation. After its cessation, the glandular lobules become smaller and return to their original state. In rare cases, they become slightly smaller than the prenatal size. As for muscle tissue, already during pregnancy, under the influence of the large weight of the breasts and a number of other factors, it decreases and weakens. And, as a rule, the larger the breasts were, the more they sag, since more elastic and stronger muscles are required to support them. To minimize losses, you should constantly take care of your breasts. Especially during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

What are the degrees of breast sagging?
Typically, specialists (and by specialists, I mean plastic surgeons) classify mastoptosis (sagging breasts) by the position of the nipple in relation to the fold under the breast, the point at which the lower surface of the breast is attached to the rib cage.

In fact, it is very difficult to understand this information, all these degrees, without the necessary education.
I found information where scientists derived the formula for the most aesthetically attractive shape of a woman’s breast. The ratio was 45% to 55%, i.e. The volume of the breast above the nipple should be 10% less than the volume of the breast below, and the nipple itself should look straight or be slightly upturned.
This is what an ideal breast looks like from the point of view of scientists, so this is what I mean, in fact, to put it simply, there are (can be distinguished) three degrees of sagging (sagging) of the breast, see the photo below:

Some supporters believe that the bra provides breast support and helps improve its appearance, i.e. Many women believe that the breasts cannot support themselves anatomically, and their sagging is caused by weakness of the ligaments that support the mammary gland.
Therefore, they are convinced that the bra supports the breasts and prevents them from sagging.
In my opinion, this is not true, this is an erroneous opinion, moreover, neither researchers, nor bra manufacturers, nor health professionals have been able to find confirmation of this theory.
As a rule, bra manufacturers carefully claim that bras affect the shape of the breast only when they are used (that is, when they are worn), but they do not say anything openly, because they are not interested in this, their goal is to make money.. in general, I described the 2nd opinion (theory) in great detail, there you will find answers to many questions, including questions regarding this theory (the first), therefore be sure to read further.
2nd opinion (theory)
Other supporters believe that everything is happening exactly the opposite.
They say that bras contribute to sagging, since the breasts become dependent on support (the bra) and atrophy of the natural mechanism that protects against sagging occurs, in particular, the muscles and ligaments that support the breasts atrophy.
Look, many people believe that bras create weak breasts, which, by relying on the bra for artificial support, lose the ability to support themselves.
In principle, everything is logical, because absolutely any organ that does not bear any load will atrophy over time (for example, if you previously trained in the gym and then quit, all your wonderful shape slowly begins to be lost), and here, in our In the case of ligaments, if they do not fulfill their functions, they weaken over time, and consequently the breasts begin to sag. Do you understand?
Also, to more fully confirm this opinion, there are medical studies that claim that the natural loading of the ligaments by the weight of the chest is anatomically provided and does not lead to their stretching.
Moreover, this opinion has many confirmations from various specialists who conducted experiments on women. For clarity, I found the most comprehensive study of its kind by Professor Jean-Denis Roullion, a specialist in sports medicine at the French University of Franche-Comté in Besançon.
So, Jean-Denis Roullion unveiled his amazing result after a thorough analysis of the breasts of more than 300 women aged 18 to 35 years. And according to his 15-year study, girls and women who wear bras have more sagging breasts than those who don't.
Therefore, the French scientist came to the conclusion that bras in this age group (remember 18-35 years old) are useless, moreover, he claims (and confirms the 2nd opinion, what we talked about above) that wearing a bra weakens natural muscles , which support the breasts, as a result, sagging (breast sagging) appears, I quote the words of Dr. Rowllion:
“From a medical, physiological and anatomical point of view, the breasts do not gain any benefit from depriving them of their weight. On the contrary, as a result, it sags more, and the bra is just a “false necessity.”
I also found other studies that show that living without the support of a bra is good for your breasts. After all, without wearing a bra, the breasts are relieved of pressure, it becomes easier to breathe, lymph and blood circulation in the mammary glands is not disrupted, the weight of the breasts no longer supports the shoulders and back, and the muscles gradually resume their natural support functions.
All these benefits are really real and confirmed by many medical studies, and by the way, many girls/women feel discomfort at first when they give up a bra.
Can you guess why? Because your ligaments have weakened, they have atrophied, because the bra (bra) created artificial support, which is why at first you will have a little discomfort until your muscles and ligaments regain their previous strength.
But! Over time, when your muscles and ligaments that support your breasts begin to actively perform their natural functions, the sagging of the breasts decreases, moreover, the breasts become even more elastic.

How is it possible, they will say, I wore a bra all the time, what should I do now?

Stretch marks
During pregnancy and even after stopping breastfeeding, stretch marks may appear (before they were simply invisible). Moreover, the lighter the skin, the “brighter” they are. According to cosmetologists, within nine months after childbirth, almost all visible consequences of pregnancy, including stretch marks, can be eliminated. And the latter do not remove them, but only lighten them. And keep in mind that creams only affect fresh skin defects. If after nine months the stretch marks still have not disappeared, contact a beauty salon. There, with the help of a laser, not only postpartum stretch marks are removed, but also much deeper scars.
What to do?
There are situations where wearing a bra is beneficial and this is also confirmed by medical research.
First of all, we are talking about playing sports and in all cases when you have to: run, jump, or make any sudden movements.
The fact is that during such movements the chest shakes and makes sharp vibrations up and down and to the sides with a very large amplitude (up to 15 cm), which is why it experiences a significant load.
And since the ligaments that support the breasts are quite thin, they are easily stretched when the breasts “bounce” during sudden movements. That is why, even if your breasts are not large, in cases where you have to make these sudden movements (in general, sports), you should wear a functional, supportive sports bra (it’s best if it’s a top, because a regular bra copes with this problem much worse), reliably fixing the breasts and preventing them from sagging.
This top reduces active breast vibrations and prevents unnatural stretching of the skin and ligaments.

Secondly, the bra will be useful for women with excess weight and pathologically heavy breasts, remember what I told you about above, due to such a large breast weight, these breasts can sink down, which will cause its subsequent noticeable sagging or other In other words, the large mammary glands descend, since they are constantly affected by gravity, and the ligamentous apparatus is not able to support such a large weight!!! And because of this, there is sagging.
Thirdly, the bra will be useful for women who have given birth a lot, whose ligaments are already stretched for natural reasons...
Fourthly, a bra will be useful in old age, when the tone of muscles and ligaments weakens.
Global output
In my opinion, wearing or not wearing a bra is a personal matter for every woman, you read the article, draw your own conclusion, but, in my opinion, the second theory = confirmed by many medical studies.
Breast sagging is a natural process, and wearing a bra does not affect it (meaning, for the better, it only affects for the worse, i.e. sagging is achieved faster, due to atrophy of the ligaments and muscles that hold the mammary glands) and with Over time, the breasts lose their shape and sag both in women who wore a bra and in women who did not wear one, because this is influenced by completely different reasons.
The reasons that I told you about above in the article, therefore you need to look for a middle ground (a sense of proportion), if you wear a bra, then as needed.
For example:
- during sports, physical activity, running, etc. I talked about this above
- or those women who are overweight or have pathologically heavy breasts
- or for those who are giving birth not for the first time
- To old people.
But for all other girls and women (wearing a bra from an early age is especially not beneficial), therefore you need to avoid it in every possible way (if possible), or wear it, but not for long + be sure to take it off at night, when walking around the house, while resting and wear intermittently.
In no case should you put it on in the morning and take it off at night, or even put it on in the morning and take it off a day or two later, you can’t do that, because this will lead to atrophy of the muscles and ligaments.
As a result, there will be sagging (breast sagging), well, this is what a sense of proportion looks like in my opinion.
In any case, it’s up to you to decide what and how. I'm just expressing my thoughts out loud.
How to restore breast firmness
Experts define three stages of sagging breasts:
- at the first stage, you can correct a sagging bust with physical activity;
- on the second and third it is impossible to do this without surgery.
A special complex will help restore your shape a little. A contrast shower and special massages will remove sagging skin on the chest and décolleté.
Special exercises
There is no point in rushing to the gym to carry hardware. To prevent breasts from sagging during breastfeeding, you can perform a simple complex at home.
- After each feeding, wash your breasts with warm water, alternating it with cool water (not cold!). This will help prevent skin sagging and restore elasticity.

Large hanging breasts cause irritation in the woman herself and give rise to a number of various complexes. It is difficult to change the situation with exercise alone. It is necessary to improve the condition of the skin, which becomes flabby after losing weight.
There is no need to look for expensive products to correct sagging breasts. Most of them are available in every home. It can be:
- yogurt masks;
- curd wraps;
- masks with honey;
- olive or other oils high in vitamin E as masks.
To restore elasticity to the skin when the bust sag, it is better to use masks with a high content of vitamin E and A. These components are most abundant in vegetable oils, fish oil, egg yolk and fermented milk products. You can mix everything or use one component, apply to the surface of the chest and rub in gently.
Choosing the right bra
Properly selected bras will help correct the situation a little if your breasts are hanging down. Some models have special inserts (push-up), which noticeably lift the breasts, making them visually larger and sexier.
If you don't like bras that enlarge your breasts, you can choose only supportive bras. It is important that they do not compress the body and mammary glands. Some women, considering their bust to be large, purchase models several sizes smaller or wear shapewear. Such actions have a detrimental effect on the condition of the mammary gland and may manifest itself in the future as a disease.
Feeding and moving the baby
I already talked above in the article about the so-called natural feeding.
With natural feeding, the baby grasps the mother's nipple and gradually pulls her breast down.
Actually, the longer the process of such feeding continues, the greater the likelihood that the breast will not recover on its own, i.e. in the future, it simply simply remains in this saggy position (state).
What to do in this case? Everything is very simple, you need to feed milk to the baby in such a way that the baby smacks it from the side, and not from below.
The following recommendations should also be useful to you:
- Incorrect attachment is when the breast is pulled towards the baby, rather than the baby being pulled towards the breast. Pay attention to the rules and positions of breastfeeding, because this is very important.
- It is advisable to avoid manual expression, because manual expression causes a lot of strain on the woman's muscles, so it is best if you use breast pumps to express.
- Follow basic hygiene rules and avoid milk stagnation, lactostasis, and mastitis.
- Maintain approximately the same amount of milk in both breasts, and for this you need to apply the baby alternately to one or the other breast, and at the next feeding, offer the other breast first, and not the one you finished feeding with the previous time;
- Before the biggest break - the night break, try to empty both breasts so that one of them does not “overstretch”.
As for moving with a child, many mothers like to use the so-called front carriers or, as they are also called, “kangaroo carriers”.
Many girls find this method convenient for fully transporting their baby.
However, this is harmful, because a child weighing in front of you creates excess load on the “front” and pulls your shoulders, chest and back in a downward arc. This should not be allowed because your posture is compromised, and poor posture is one of the most underrated causes of sagging breasts. By lowering your shoulders, you do not provide any support to your chest; in fact, it hangs freely, completely at the mercy of gravitational forces (the force of attraction).

Sometimes after cessation of lactation, discharge from the breast continues for quite a long time. As a rule, they disappear on their own after three to four months. After you finish feeding, it feels like someone has deflated your breast like a balloon. It sharply decreases in size, sometimes one becomes significantly smaller than the other. This change is due to the fact that there was more milk in one breast. No matter what they say, without surgery it is impossible to return the previous appearance and size of the breast. But with the help of special exercises you can make your breasts more elastic. In addition, a contrast shower and sauna are very useful, if permitted by a doctor. An active lifestyle, massage and swimming are welcome.
Using various creams, sprays and supplements that promise you beautiful breasts.
Despite the fact that such methods do not seem to (but who knows) cause any harm to the breasts, there is no guarantee that they will help eliminate your problem...
Manufacturers claim that various supplements can strengthen the breasts and increase the elasticity and firmness of the skin, well maybe this is so, I don’t know)), but I know one thing for sure, manufacturers are always interested in selling their products because it is profitable for them, therefore , they will say what is beneficial to them.
In fact, they don’t care about consumers, as long as they are sold...
And yet, I will not claim that all these creams, sprays, etc. don't help.
But! I can safely say that all these creams, sprays, etc. Without other recommendations that we have talked about, and will continue to talk about, they will not be able to correct the shape of your breasts in any way, because this is basically impossible, you don’t need to fall for this nonsense scam, don’t be so naive.
Cosmetics for breast lift
Physical exercise will strengthen the muscle corset and tighten sagging breasts. Using exercises and cosmetics, it will be possible to change the structure of the skin on the chest and décolleté. Very little time will pass and the question of what to do with sagging breasts will disappear. In just a month, the reflection in the mirror will delight you.
Egg mask
The yolk of a chicken egg is rich in vitamins A and E, which have a beneficial effect on the skin of the breast, making it beautiful. The mask is applied using massage, but not strong movements, which improves blood circulation, changing breast tissue.
