Beauty salons are constantly offering clients something new, constantly acquiring unique technologies and creating new services. Keratin lamination or eyelash lifting is a relatively new proposal, which is increasingly heard in advertising and from the lips of cosmetologists. The essence of the proposal is to make eyelashes longer and thicker without extensions. Many women do not even have time to really understand the proposed procedure and understand whether they need it. Let's look at all the information about eyelash lifting to make it easier for you to make an informed choice.
What is keratin eyelash lamination
Many people know about the term “lamination” from the field of hairdressing - this procedure was proposed to give hair smoothness and an attractive shine. Considering that eyelashes are also hairs, this method can be effective for them too. The second part of the name of the procedure implies the use of keratin, a protein that helps straighten hair and makes it stronger and stronger.
Thus, the proposed eyelash lifting with such a complex name is really useful and gives the following results:
- the volume and length of eyelashes increases;
- a beautiful natural curve appears, which does not require additional use of tweezers;
- hairs become stronger, their follicles are saturated with useful substances and strengthened.
Eyelash keratation: new in cosmetology!
The beauty industry is inventing more and more new procedures that allow us to save time and look beautiful around the clock. The latest innovation in eyelash care is eyelash keratation (keratin eyelash lengthening, keratin eyelash restoration) . This method replaces eyelash extensions and perm, but at the same time combines the advantages of both. Of course, I couldn’t help but try! And now I will describe the entire procedure in detail. The first stage is, as usual, makeup removal , eyelash cleansing. There should be nothing unnecessary on them, and it is advisable not to use anything before the procedure; ideally, come to the procedure with already clean eyelashes and refrain from using mascara that day. The second stage is the application of a special patch to the lower eyelashes. As with extensions, this is done so that the lower eyelashes do not stick to the upper ones and do not curl upward, which would look extremely strange as a result.
The third stage is applying an eyelash curler . The rollers come in three sizes, I got the largest one. The roller is not just applied, but glued to the moving eyelid so that during the process of eyelash treatment it does not come off and ruin the entire procedure. The glue that holds the roller is applied warm; the feeling is quite pleasant, but for some people with particularly sensitive skin it may cause a slight tingling sensation. This, however, should not be feared, since the reaction is limited to pinching.
The fourth stage is the separation of eyelashes on a roller. This is done with gel, the eyelashes literally stick to the roller, and the master carefully separates them one from the other so that in the future they do not stick together from the keratin. This is one of the longest stages of the procedure, depending on the thickness and length of the eyelashes, and how tangled they are. Mine turned out to be quite disheveled, and the master had to fuss for a long time before moving on to the next stage.
The fifth stage is the actual curling . Eyelashes are coated with curling compound. It smells like a hair perm.
The sixth stage is a compress . A plastic film is placed over the eyes, cotton pads moistened with warm water are placed on it, and a towel is placed on top of all this. This is done so that the curling composition penetrates better into the eyelashes and holds on more tightly in the future. The exposure time of the composition with a compress is 10 minutes.
The seventh stage is removing the curling composition . To remove it, the eyelashes are covered with another product, now intended to dissolve the previous one. Exposure time – 5 minutes.
The eighth stage is actually the keratization . Before you start, the master will ask you to pull out the lower eyelashes from under the patch in order to “keratinize” them too. But I refused, since this pulling out is a very unpleasant thing. I'd rather paint them myself at home. Keratin can be colored or colorless. I chose the standard black color. More precisely, it is not completely black, but rather dark purple, but it is quite difficult to discern this color nuance on the eyelashes. The master applies keratin to the eyelashes and leaves for 10 minutes.
