Preparations of the Juvederm line and their use

Every self-respecting woman strives to preserve youth and beauty for as long as possible, but not everyone will decide to go “under the knife” for this. And it's not necessary! The latest hyaluronic acid-based products can work wonders. The leader among these today is Juvederm fillers.

Juvederm is an injectable drug, the purpose of which is to correct facial contours, get rid of facial wrinkles and, of course, age-related changes. The hyaluronic acid contained in it originally exists in human tissues and is simply necessary for connecting collagen fibers, which are responsible for the youth of our skin. It also retains water in the tissues, thus making the skin more attractive and elastic.

Hyaluronic acid is an integral component of human skin, and it contributes to the renewal of skin tissue, transportation and proper distribution of water in cells. Used in cosmetic surgery to maintain water balance, and gently adjust and smooth the skin.

With age, our body stops producing hyaluronic acid in the same quantities, resulting in the need to “supply” it from the outside. In such cases, Juvederm filler can come to the rescue, it can not only “erase” wrinkles from your face, but make your lips more sensual, your cheekbones expressive, and your skin radiant.

Juvederm: what is this drug?

First of all, you need to understand what Juvederm is. This is a line of fillers based on stabilized hyaluronic acid. The manufacturer is the American company Allergan Inc., which produces the well-known drug Botox. Juvederm came onto the market in 2000 and was approved by the FDA in 2006. The product is found to be effective and safe for use.

The composition of Juvederm preparations allows them to be used as a biorevitalizant, as well as to eliminate aesthetic defects (wrinkles, scars, nasolabial and glabellar folds) and for facial contouring.

Care after Juvederm injections

To get the most pleasant result possible, it is necessary to provide the epidermis with proper care, which will help speed up the restoration of the skin and minimize the chance of side effects. So, to help the dermis rehabilitate, you should:

  • avoid sudden changes in temperature,
  • give up decorative cosmetics,
  • don't play sports
  • do not drink caffeinated and alcoholic drinks.

On the first day, you should sleep on a raised pillow and apply cold to the injection sites.

Operating principle

The active ingredient of all Juvederm products is hyaluronic acid. This substance is absolutely identical to hyaluronic acid, which is produced by the human body. Hyaluronic acid has the property of binding water molecules; the principle of all biorevitalizants is based on this. After injection into the skin, the molecules of the substance attract and retain water, thereby maintaining normal water balance, promoting skin hydration, improving its quality and appearance.

The second action of fillers is to create the missing volume in a particular area. After injection, the gel enters the free space between the fibers of the connective tissue, filling the voids, making the skin denser, smoothing it. Due to their high viscosity, gels are well retained in a certain area, so they are used to correct the shape and volume of lips, cheekbones and other parts of the face.

Compound

The drug is based on hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin. This component significantly reduces the risk of an allergic reaction and promotes tissue restoration.

Lip augmentation with Juvederm

Juvederm® (Yuvederm®) is a new trend in the cosmetic industry.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural result of biological synthesis, so rejection is unlikely. The ideal concentration of this component helps achieve a long-lasting effect.

In addition, recovery after injections of Juvederm® preparations is much faster, thanks to the phosphorus solution included in the composition, which speeds up the process of eliminating inflammation.

Indications and contraindications

Indications for the use of Juvederm fillers are:

  • the presence of wrinkles of varying severity;
  • deep folds and creases;
  • facial wrinkles in the corners of the eyes, in the perioral area;

Forms of release and characteristics of the drug Juvederm

All Juvederm fillers from Allergan can be divided into 2 categories - biorevitalizants and preparations for contouring.

Varieties of Juvederm products differ in the percentage of hyaluronic acid, density and viscosity, area of application and how long the result lasts. All gels are produced in special syringes. Package volume varies from 0.55 to 1 ml.

Juvederm ultra line

Gel Juvederm Volume (Volum)

Introducing Juvederm

Intradermal implants of the Juvederm series are fillers (fill - from English - to fill) based on synthesized hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin. They are used by dermatocosmetologists around the world to restore lost volume of soft tissues and correct congenital defects, smooth out wrinkles, correct facial contours and lip shape.

The drug is produced by Allergan, located in the USA. The filler goes on sale in the form of a gel, in proprietary graduated syringes for disposable use.

At their core, all fillers are intradermal gel implants. The gel in them is biodegradable, i.e. dissolving over time. Lidocaine is added to the components of some types of Juvederm to reduce pain.

Informative "

The Juvederm series fillers use synthesized hyaluronic acid, i.e. obtained artificially, which reduces the risk of an allergic reaction to the drug.

In our country, hyaluronic acid is produced in small quantities in the body. A person weighing 65-75 kg contains about 15 grams. acids, 1/3 of which are synthesized daily.

Carrying out the procedure

Before prescribing the procedure, a consultation with a specialist is required. During it, the doctor determines the condition of the patient’s skin and defects that need to be corrected, clarifies the presence of contraindications, and if they are absent, selects the most suitable drug.

The protocol for biorevitalization or contouring using Juvederm preparations is similar to other injection procedures. It takes place in several stages:

  1. Cleansing the skin, treating with a disinfectant.
  2. Application anesthesia.
  3. Introduction of fillers.
  4. Repeated skin disinfection.
  5. Application of a soothing anti-inflammatory agent.

The whole procedure takes about half an hour.

As for anesthesia, it is not always done; much depends on the drug chosen and the area of correction. For example, biorevitalization with Juvederm Volite is carried out without anesthesia, since the product contains lidocaine, and its density allows the use of thin needles that minimally injure the skin.

How are filler injections done?

Injections with these medications are given as follows:

  1. a consultation is held with a doctor who will help you choose the right type of product;
  2. an allergy test is carried out, which will show whether there is intolerance to the administered compound;
  3. the skin is cleansed of makeup and any other contaminants using an antiseptic;
  4. Juvederm is administered as slowly as possible close to the wrinkle, after which this area is kneaded for the best result.

The full effect can be seen after just a week, and its duration is about a year.

Side effects

All Juvederm preparations have a high safety profile. However, there is a possibility of side effects, including:

  • skin redness;
  • swelling;
  • small hematomas in the injection area;
  • pain in the area where the gel was introduced.

More serious complications are also possible, such as an allergic reaction, inflammation, and the formation of compactions.

Most side effects are a normal reaction of the body to damage to the skin and the introduction of a foreign substance. Complications can be caused by errors by the cosmetologist when determining the dosage or during the procedure, as well as by the patient’s failure to comply with basic medical recommendations before and after the injection of fillers. So, if you drink alcohol in the first few days after the procedure, severe swelling may occur in the area where fillers are injected.
