Etermis fillers (Etermis): indications for use, contraindications, instructions, side effects

New fillers are appearing on the market that can solve age-related changes in the skin much more effectively, while simultaneously moisturizing and rejuvenating the skin. And the duration of action of new fillers has increased significantly. Depending on the existing problems of my client, I select a filler that is better suited than others to solve the specific problem. In this section, I continue to introduce you to new products in cosmetology, which I also use in my practice.

So, if your reflection in the mirror has ceased to please you and answer that “you are the cutest, most rosy and whiter in the world,” then it’s time to discover the “miracle potion” - the latest generation dermal filler Etermis from the French pharmaceutical company Pierre Fabre, has been developing and implementing advanced technologies in aesthetic cosmetology for more than half a century.

Features of Etermis materials

"Etermis" is a line of fillers that have a therapeutic effect. They contain unique components (mannitol, native HA) that provide a long-lasting effect after administration of the drug. They also significantly slow down the aging process inside the skin, acting as a preventive agent.

Types of fillers Etermis

Price

The cost of Etermis 4 fillers varies from 9,420 rubles to 118,258 rubles.

Compound

The Etermis 2, 3, 4 fillers contain the following components:

  • mannitol;
  • native hyaluronic acid.

Thanks to the use of these substances, the aging process of the skin is stopped. They are also necessary to ensure the long-lasting effect of fillers. Since these fillers have a preventive effect, they are called drugs with a therapeutic effect. Thanks to their effect, wrinkles are smoothed out, treated, and age-related changes in the area of injection are prevented.

Release form and types of drugs

The line of drugs includes 4 types of fillers, which differ in their density. Due to the presence of gels of different densities, the client can choose the drug that is suitable for his age-related changes in the dermis and skin type. Denser fillers are used to eliminate very deep wrinkles. Due to the fact that the Etermis filler is more rigid, it is more often used for lip correction.

  • Etermis 2 filler is designed to moisturize lips and correct superficial wrinkles.
  • Etermis 3 is used to correct deep as well as moderately expressed wrinkles and folds. It can also be used to correct and increase the volume of the lips.
  • Etermis 4 is considered the densest filler in the line. It is very convenient to use in the correction of deep, pronounced wrinkles, to replenish volume, to perform pronounced lip correction, to eliminate folds.

The package contains 2 syringes of 1 ml each. The kit includes 2 syringes with fillers, needles (4 pieces), instruction leaflet.

Comparison with other drugs of this type

The average density of Etermis is considered intermediate between the density of fillers such as Radiesse and Belotero. This German filler has a number of advantages, which are represented by the points below:

  • the drug is able to clearly maintain its shape (lip contour, special lip shape);
  • can be used for volumetric correction in younger patients (up to 40 years);
  • effectiveness of action (full aesthetic effect is observed after 3 – 4 days);
  • ease of injection (the gel can be distributed over the problem area without much difficulty through palpation or manual technique);
  • maximum prolongation of the effect (the effect of the filler lasts up to two years);
  • unique composition of the drug. Glycerol accelerates the flow of fluid to the injection area. Mannitol has an anti-edematous effect, prevents the oxidative destruction of hyaluronic acid, prolongs the action of this substance, and acts as an antioxidant. Thanks to native HA, hydration is achieved faster and MMPs are blocked, which contribute to the destruction of collagen. Also, native hyaluronic acid stimulates collagenogenesis;
  • the effectiveness and safety of the drug, as proven by studies and observations of experiments.

Why are fillers dangerous?

The dangers of fillers are usually due to improper administration of the drug.

I propose to consider the possibility of undesirable consequences and ways to eliminate them in more detail.

The main danger is vascular occlusion - arterial and venous

Problems arise when filler is injected directly into a vein or artery, resulting in damage to the vessel. Damage can occur not only due to the injection of the drug, but also due to swelling or pressure on the injection site.

Important!

The consequences may be ischemia and tissue necrosis, blindness, ulcers, scars.

If the skin at the injection site changes color, this indicates the presence of vascular occlusion. In addition, pain at the injection site, ecchymosis, and bluish skin may occur.

I recommend:

  • apply a compress;
  • get a massage;
  • use vasodilators;
  • administer corticosteroids;
  • take antiviral drugs and antibiotics (if there is a risk of necrosis of the perioral area).

Attention!

Never self-medicate! Always consult a doctor if you have any health problems.

Separately, I would like to highlight arterial occlusion of the retina - it is this damage that can cause vision loss. This is a very rare but extremely dangerous injury.

Its use in cosmetology and plastic surgery

Preparations with different densities, as we have already indicated, are effective against various skin defects. Let's consider separately the indications for fillers 2, 3, 4.

Stages of the procedure and home care after it

At the first stage, the doctor will determine which type of drug is optimal (depending on the nature of the problem), cleanse the skin, and apply an anesthetic gel. Then the drug itself is injected using ultra-thin needles. The injections are generally well tolerated, but some soreness may be present in areas where the skin is particularly sensitive and thin. Etermis 4 is usually administered linearly - into areas characterized by insufficient volume. Some cosmetologists also use the “framework” technique - it is especially effective when working with the cheekbone area.

At the end of the procedure, the cosmetologist announces the rules that must be followed in the first few days: visiting the bathhouse and solarium, active facial massage, and the use of scrubs are not recommended. All this is necessary in order to avoid inflammation and allow the skin to recover. The final result can be assessed about a week later - by this time the swelling has completely disappeared, the puncture sites and bruises have healed.

Experienced cosmetologists at our clinic will find a solution to any aesthetic problem and help you choose high-quality anti-aging care and the most effective procedures. Make an appointment at any time convenient for you.
