Heat and cold for youthful skin - cold and hot peeling

Laser peeling has a fairly wide range of indications and is performed on patients of different age categories.

The main goal of the procedure is to improve the quality of the skin: smoothing out small creases and wrinkles, lightening mild pigment defects, and generally improving the condition of the skin.

Women often resort to laser peeling to soften the severity of stretch marks (stretch marks), including postpartum ones, but laser resurfacing can better cope with this problem.

Laser peeling – “weekend procedure”

Laser peeling is the optimal solution for patients who are not ready to spend up to 4-6 days on rehabilitation after chemical peels.

The average recovery time after the procedure is 2-3 days. Following the advice of a cosmetologist can further reduce the specified time frame. Having undergone laser peeling on Friday, you will be able to resume full-fledged business and social activity by Monday. Having completed a light peeling procedure on Monday, you can safely go to work on Wednesday.

Redness and slight swelling of the skin may persist for 3 hours after the procedure. At this time, only hydration with thermal water is required. Next, you should apply a restorative cosmetic or pharmacological product selected by a cosmetologist, maintaining a certain frequency and exposure. This will help neutralize irritation and stimulate skin cell renewal processes.

After 3-5 days, the patient will fully enjoy the results of the procedure!

The essence and principles of laser peeling

Laser peeling is performed primarily using lasers, the radiation of which penetrates the skin to a depth of 0.05 to 1.5 mm. The parameters are set depending on the indications and characteristics of the patient: for some it is quite easy to “walk” across the surface of the epidermis, while others require a more serious and extensive impact in order to eliminate characteristic age-related problems.

Laser peeling is characterized by a soft and gentle effect, due to which rehabilitation is short-lived and simple. The procedure has a minimal number of contraindications, in contrast to more aggressive laser resurfacing.

Laser or chemical peeling?

Chemical peeling has long maintained a leading position among professional procedures, but the intensive development of laser technologies has gradually replaced it on this list. The advantages of laser peeling over chemical peeling are obvious:

  • Controllability of impact. The safety of laser peeling is dictated by a completely controlled effect on the skin: the cosmetologist can set different parameters - from slight exfoliation of horn cells to complete renewal of the middle and deep layers of the epidermis (which is equivalent to the effects of medium or deep chemical peeling). At the same time, the depth of impact is calculated in microns as accurately as possible, and not approximately, in comparison with the exposure time of chemical peels, which reduces the overall traumatic nature of the procedure to a minimum threshold;
  • Atraumatic. Returning to the issue of injury, it is worth mentioning that chemical peeling, regardless of its type, is always potent for injury. Skin renewal occurs due to its preliminary damage “indiscriminately.” Laser technologies act selectively, destroying only tissue at the required depth and area;
  • Uniform desquamation. After laser peeling, severe large-plate peeling does not occur, as after chemical peeling. The absolute majority of exfoliated cells are removed during the procedure. This significantly reduces rehabilitation time and simplifies its overall course.

The variability and controllability of the effect makes laser peeling a “prescription” procedure. Based on the needs, it can be prescribed to both young patients struggling with acne and mature patients who want to qualitatively rejuvenate their face without surgery.

Indications for laser peeling

Cosmetologists identify the following indications for laser peeling:

  • “Problem” skin – oily shine, enlarged pores, open and closed comedones, mild and medium stages of acne;
  • “Stressed” skin (typical for smokers, workers in air-conditioned premises, residents of megalopolises, sunbathing fans, workers on the street) – dryness, “weatheredness,” thin skin, gray or sallow complexion, uneven skin tone and structure;
  • Wrinkles – mimic and linear (small depth);
  • Age spots - freckles, melasma, chloasma, lentigo, etc. (colored in relatively light shades and having a small size);
  • Stretch marks are usually fresh (purple, bluish, red) stretch marks of physiological origin (recent pregnancy and childbirth, sudden fluctuations in body weight, etc.).

Please note that the procedure must be prescribed by a doctor who will analyze the condition of your skin, its density and fat content, and also listen to your wishes regarding the desired effect of the procedure.
There are quite a lot of options for “rejuvenating skin with laser”!

In what cases is laser eyelid resurfacing performed?

The rejuvenating technique is carried out according to the doctor’s indications, so you first need to visit a cosmetologist who, taking into account the patient’s age, the condition of the skin and the nature of aesthetic defects, will determine the type of laser, as well as the depth of impact.

Fractional laser resurfacing (“crow’s feet” and lower eyelids) RUB 8,000. Fractional laser resurfacing (upper and lower eyelids) RUB 8,000.

Laser eyelid skin resurfacing is prescribed for patients with the following aesthetic and cosmetic defects:

  • drooping upper eyelids;
  • pronounced crow's feet;
  • age-related ptosis;
  • swelling, bags, dark bruises under the eyes;
  • pigment spots and capillary network;
  • hernia of the eyelids;
  • scars, scars and other defects.

Variations of laser peeling

For peeling, a carbon dioxide laser (CO2 laser) is usually used and the procedure is carried out using a fractional method - when the laser beam “burns” the skin not in a continuous layer, but in a clearly defined pattern of dots. The number of dots and their pattern may differ, this is determined by the doctor.

Sometimes you can hear the term “fractional photothermolysis” - essentially this is the same laser peeling. Photothermolysis is the process of evaporation of tissue under the strong temperature influence of a laser. Doctors who want to emphasize that the prescribed procedure is “stronger” than laser peeling (for example, with deeper penetration into the skin and a more frequent fractional grid pattern) use the term “fractional photothermolysis.”

The results of deep peeling are assessed as cumulative and appear within 2-3 months. In addition to the removal of horn cells, a structural renewal of the epidermis occurs, which entails an obvious rejuvenating effect.

Laser peeling result

Laser peeling helps give the skin matte and velvety, tenderness, smoothness, and a beautiful inner glow. After the procedure, the complexion of the face becomes uniform and healthy, pigment spots lighten or completely disappear, inflammatory elements appear less and less often. The skin becomes fresh, youthful, radiant, takes on a sleek appearance, and begins to “breathe” fully.

Like most cosmetic procedures, laser peeling is best done in a cycle. The number of sessions is 2-7, depending on the tasks assigned to the cosmetologist.

Laser technologies are constantly being improved and modernized. And if 5-7 years ago the patient had to “adapt” to the laser (have a certain skin phototype, etc.), innovative laser systems successfully “adapt” to any patient.

We use in our work a new modern device, Lumenis AcuPulse, which guarantees better efficiency compared to previous models!

The abundance of settings guarantees the individualization of procedures, and the shortening of the list of contraindications demonstrates their utmost safety.

What are circles under the eyes?

Let's immediately highlight several problems under the eyes that are often confused: first of all, we pay attention to the fact that the nasolacrimal trough and dark circles are different problems , although very often they form together!

The reason for the appearance of circles is a combination of several factors:

  • thinning or absence of fat under the skin in this area,
  • hereditary deep-set eyes,
  • thin or pigmented skin.

Laser methods can successfully solve some of these problems, but not all!

We recommend reading a separate article where we talked about all the reasons for the formation of dark circles in the lower eyelid area.

The classic and most effective option for correcting dark circles is filling the area under the eyes with high-quality fillers or a course of mesotherapy to rejuvenate the lower eyelid area.

Contraindications

Despite its safety and minimal side effects, the fractional photothermolysis technique also has contraindications. The procedure is not prescribed for patients with diseases and conditions such as:

  • malignant neoplasms;
  • epilepsy;
  • psoriasis and atopic dermatitis;
  • inflammation in the treated area;
  • pregnancy.

Fractional photothermolysis is not performed immediately after aggressive cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels. A fresh tan - natural or from a solarium - will also be a temporary contraindication.
