Facial massage using the Jacquet method - a unique method of healing and rejuvenation

Massage procedures help preserve the beauty and youth of the skin for a long time. Facial massage is a set of techniques and methods of influencing the skin and underlying tissues in order to improve their trophism, microcirculation, remove the stratum corneum of the epidermis, and normalize the functioning of the sweat and sebaceous glands.

It is conventionally divided into three groups:

  • Classic massage (hygienic, preventive). Improves the tone and appearance of facial skin, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, and slows down aging. Stroking and rubbing techniques are used.
  • Plastic. Helps restore beauty to fading, thinned skin, eliminates wrinkles and folds. Provides intense impact, pressing and rhythmic movements along massage lines.
  • Medicinal. Prescribed for certain dermatological diseases (acne, oily seborrhea, infiltrates, scars), as well as neuralgia. A widely used variation of this group is the Jacquet facial massage. It includes stroking, vibration, pinching and kneading techniques.

According to the directions of action and the tasks solved, facial massage is divided into:

  • to myofascial. Eliminates disorders in connective tissue, removes muscle blocks, relaxes muscles;
  • lymphatic drainage Stimulates the outflow of lymphatic fluid, accelerates the removal of toxins, relieves swelling, puffiness of the face, prevents sagging and sagging tissues;
  • rejuvenating. Japanese Asahi massage, French facial massage Kosha;
  • strengthening. Eliminates muscle tension, improves muscle contractility, stimulates blood circulation, tones the skin.

The speed of onset of the effect depends on age. At the age of 25–30, when age-related changes are less pronounced, the result of a course of procedures is manifested by an improvement in the color and shape of the face, and an increase in skin turgor.

After 40–50 years, more pronounced changes can be seen after massage. They consist of smoothing the skin texture, increasing the clarity of the contours and oval of the face. The effect is also manifested by slowing down the aging process.

About the procedure

Jacquet massage
is one of the techniques for performing facial massage, which is often used by cosmetologists as a resolving agent for various skin diseases. During the procedure, blood circulation is normalized, subcutaneous inflammation resolves and metabolic processes in the skin are activated. With the help of this type of massage, they also solve the problem of excessive sebum secretion and treat acne.

It should be noted that the Jacquet massage technique is quite difficult to perform, so only a qualified specialist can carry out the procedure. The technique consists of grasping and rhythmically pinching the skin of the face with the index (middle) and thumb in accordance with the direction of the skin vectors. Pinching movements should alternate with stroking and kneading the tissue. This technique allows you to influence not only the superficial, but also the deep layers of the skin, which does not happen during regular facial massage sessions. The fundamental difference from other types of cosmetic facial massage is in the very nature of the kneading movements (deep and plucking, which allow squeezing out sebum).

Benefits of facial massage

  • Prevents the appearance of wrinkles and also increases the production of collagen and elastin
  • Relaxes facial muscles and activates blood circulation, which helps cosmetic products penetrate the top layer of skin faster
  • Improves skin color and reduces swelling
  • Cleanses pores

This procedure is carried out taking into account the anatomical features of the structure of the facial muscles.
During the procedure, the direction of finger movements is very important. Often they should follow the location of the muscle tissue, along the so-called massage lines. Moving against such lines can cause the skin to gather in folds, and excessive pressure when stroking can contribute to the appearance of new wrinkles. The same actions can lead to drooping (ptosis) of the skin, which is most typical in the area of the nasolabial triangle, the corners of the mouth and the area of the upper eyelid.

Course duration

On average, a Jacquet massage session lasts 10-20 minutes. The duration and intensity are determined by the doctor individually, based on the characteristics of the patient’s skin. The first few sessions are carried out daily, then the frequency of procedures gradually decreases to 2-3 per week. The total number of procedures recommended by experts is 10. Of course, the number of sessions can be increased. Or Jacquet massage is carried out as a one-time procedure, for example, after cleansing the skin, because it is an excellent means for restoring and healing injured skin.

results

Here are the results you can expect after a full cycle of procedures:

  • reduction or even complete disappearance of acne,
  • normalization of the sebaceous glands,
  • improvement of skin texture: smoothing out scars, scars, folds, skin creases (although, of course, the effectiveness depends on the severity of the imperfections),
  • increasing tissue tone, skin elasticity and correction of facial contours,
  • reduction and lightening of age spots,
  • improvement of facial skin color and tone.

It is worth noting that no other massage technique can solve so many facial skin problems.
It is most advisable to combine Jacquet massage with skin cleansing. If you perform peeling before starting the procedure, massaging will greatly speed up the process of tissue regeneration and healing. Applying a cosmetic mask after finishing the massage procedure will moisturize and nourish the skin (skin warmed up by the massage and open pores will allow nutrients to penetrate deep into the dermis), which will make the effect of the complex of procedures truly miraculous.

Below are clinics and experienced doctors who provide Jacquet massage in Moscow and Russian cities. You can find out the cost of facial massage services according to Jacquet, contraindications, ratings and reviews, and also make an appointment online.

Reviews

Below are reviews from patients who have undergone a course of rejuvenating massage using the Jacquet method:

Irina

Moscow

I have heard about this massage technique for a long time. Therefore, as soon as I noticed the first signs of aging on my face, I immediately went to the clinic. I completed the full course and couldn’t be happier with the results. The skin became more elastic and tightened (as if I was using an expensive cream), wrinkles around the mouth and under the lower eyelids smoothed out. I'll go again next year. The only drawback is the high price.

Lyudmila

Kemerovo

I am a big fan of salon rejuvenating procedures, but I recently learned about massage using the Jacquet method. And, as soon as I had the opportunity, I signed up for the procedures. I was prescribed 10 sessions with an interval of 2 days. I went to each of them with great pleasure, noting more and more positive changes. In particular, pigmentation has gone away, complexion has evened out and wrinkles around the eyes have become less deeper/more noticeable. But, I will say right away, the procedures are quite painful, so you will have to be patient.

Indications for testing

The procedure using the plucking method is for therapeutic and cosmetic purposes. Correct implementation of the procedure, taking into account indications and restrictions, brings effective results. With the help of Jacquet's massage, various dermatological problems are quickly eliminated. The procedure is indicated for prevention, alleviation of the condition, and complete elimination of symptoms of the presence of the following conditions:

  • oily seborrhea;
  • cicatricial lesions, old scars;
  • acne, blackheads, their consequences;
  • comedones, milia, infiltrates;
  • hyperkeratosis.

In addition to obvious manifestations of a dermatological nature, Jacquet’s massage normalizes:

  • impaired blood circulation in the affected area;
  • increased activity of the sebaceous glands;
  • activity of stagnant areas.

The effectiveness of the technique is recognized not only for diseases and dysfunctions of the body, but also for external manifestations of aging (wrinkles, ptosis, sagging). The effect is useful when trying to lose weight. The technique helps break up and compact loose fatty tissue.

A competent approach to massage will help you cope with various manifestations in 3-4 procedures. Regular courses of exposure help to completely eliminate the problem.

Despite the “additional” effectiveness, the procedure is primarily aimed at getting rid of acne and other dermatological problems. There is no need to rely on technology when trying to rejuvenate.

How to do a pinch massage yourself?

Carrying out the procedure at home is quite difficult, but if you follow the rules, there will be no complications.

Proper preparation

Hygienic conditions are very important for Jacquet massage. Before starting, you must thoroughly cleanse the skin using gel or foam cleanser and 2% salicylic alcohol. Do not use moisturizing creams or oils. It is also necessary to sanitize your hands. After cleansing, talc or other dry base is applied to the face.

Scheme of massage lines on the face

Jacquet massage is performed strictly in the direction of the massage lines, as indicated in the photo. They are divided into several zones.

  1. Start at the interbrow cavity, move along the eyebrows in an arc to the temples.
  2. From the outer corners of the eyes to the inner ones, avoiding pressure on the eyelids. In this area, only stroking, tapping and vibration are allowed without deep pinching.
  3. Along the nose in both directions.
  4. From the upper lip to the wings of the nose.
  5. From the corners of the lips up to the cheekbones.
  6. From the lower lip to the chin.
  7. From the chin to the ears along the lower jaw bone.

Technique for doing it at home

The Jacquet technique seems easy at first glance, but in practice it is not so easy to use. It is necessary to strictly follow the instructions so as not to harm the skin. There are 5 stages, the sequence of which is very important to follow. All actions are performed from the forehead to the décolleté.

  1. Stroking or sliding: smoothly and without pressure, work all massage areas from top to bottom. This stage prepares the face for stress.
  2. Kneading: massage the entire face with a little more force in a clockwise circular motion to relieve muscle tension.
  3. Tapping: gradually accelerating, tap all massage lines.
  4. Pinching and vibration: the main stage in the Jacquet massage. It is important to do the pinching correctly to avoid injuries and bruises: they are performed with two fingers intensively, energetically and rhythmically, capturing the deep layers of the skin. Such movements stimulate blood flow into the epidermis and trigger its regeneration. Alternate pinches and vibrations.
  5. Stroking, or sliding: to calm the face after such an aggressive impact, the procedure ends with repeating the first point - sliding.

The duration of the session is 10-15 minutes, but it is important to monitor your condition and stop the massage if you experience too much discomfort. After completing the session, you can apply moisturizer to your face.

Contraindications

Despite the many positive aspects, there are contraindications for pinch massage. They should be carefully studied and adhered to.

  • Mechanical damage. Scratches, open wounds and other microtraumas will not allow you to carry out the procedure comfortably; the tissues will not heal properly. The risk of infection increases;
  • Inflammatory processes. In case of relapse of herpes, acute dermatitis and purulent rashes, you will have to wait for recovery. If the disease does not subside, it is advisable to see a doctor;
  • Diseases. Severe colds and acute respiratory viral infections are also taboo: the immune system is weakened, the muscles are less responsive, massage will not give the maximum effect.

Regularity is important, but if you feel unwell, it is better to postpone the session. And also the procedure is stopped if there is severe pain or dizziness. Self-care should bring positive emotions, bring only benefits.

Preparation

Before performing the massage, the doctor (or the one who will perform the procedure) treats his hands with an antiseptic and removes makeup from the patient’s face. For this you can use hydrophilic oil. Further course of action:

  1. Steam bath with a decoction of medicinal herbs (chamomile, St. John's wort, sage, etc.).
  2. Treatment of facial skin with a weak solution of salicylic acid (no more than 2%).
  3. Drying the epidermal layer naturally or using paper napkins.
  4. Apply a tonic and wipe the skin with a dry towel or napkin.

Now you can proceed directly to the massage procedure.

Types of buccal massage

Classic massage by Joelle Siocco belongs to the category of sculptural (or sculpting) massage, during which a kind of facial sculpting occurs, and the cosmetologist takes on the role of a sculptor. Over time, other types of buccal massage appeared, but their novelty is very conditional; cosmetologists simply learned to successfully combine other effective massage techniques with buccal massage.

Sculptural-buccal massage

The technique consists of two stages - sculptural massage (working muscles with certain movements along massage lines) and buccal massage itself.

Buccal plastic massage

Another combination of two techniques: external intensive impact on muscles with internal one.

Buccal-topological massage

This extremely intriguing name hides a combined technique: buccal massage, acupuncture and treatment of biologically active points.

Technique

To accurately understand the technology, you can watch a video protocol of the procedure, and then look at the diagrams. The massage itself takes place in three stages:

  1. Pinching (warming up the surface);
  2. Vibration (cell stimulation);
  3. Kneading (consolidating the result).

Do the procedure while lying down comfortably, with your head thrown back as much as possible. Start from the bottom, kneading the neck and décolleté. The thumb and index finger grab a small amount of skin and press down a little. Then they rise higher, paying attention to each area.

Jacquet massage technique for face

During manipulations, the massage therapist uses only three massage techniques:

  • kneading the skin;
  • pinches (deep grips);
  • shocks and vibrations.

The Jacquet massage technique has four stages after preparation:

  1. Warming up the skin is necessary so that the dermis gets used to the manipulation. The massage therapist kneads the skin for 1 minute, gradually increasing the intensity.
  2. Pinching: movements are fast and rhythmic. Intense exposure is performed with the thumb and forefinger. Pinching lasts 2/3 of the time allotted for the session.
  3. Vibrations and pats.
  4. Kneading, the force of impact decreases.

The face processing algorithm is as follows:

  1. The first specialist treats the neck, the direction is from the décolleté area up to the chin.
  2. Kneading the areas around the ears, treating the tragus protrusion. The patient's head should be tilted back.
  3. Gradually, the movements descend to the shoulders and after a short kneading, the master’s hands again move to the earlobes, and then to the chin.
  4. Pinch techniques are performed along the line of the lower jaw.
  5. The next zone is the nasolabial folds, movements are performed from the wings of the nose to the ears.
  6. The massage therapist treats the nose gently and moves to the cheeks. This is where the efforts are most intense.
  7. Next, the master goes up to the eyes, gently kneads the skin and the area under the eyebrows, without touching them.
  8. The final stage is working on the forehead, movements go from the center to the sides.

All movements are made along massage lines. It is forbidden to intensively impact the area around the eyes and nose.

According to the method of execution, pinching is similar to the process of squeezing out blackheads and pimples and they actually come out and the pores close. If the face is very oily, the massage therapist periodically removes the discharge with special disposable napkins.

At the end of the session, the massage therapist wipes the face with a damp towel, dries it and applies a soothing cream. It is advisable to not go outside for 30-35 minutes after the procedure.

The treatment course includes 15-20 sessions, the first week they are carried out every day, then three and twice a week. The cosmetic course is more gentle and consists of 12-15 sessions, 2-3 times a week.

Can there be complications?

The Jacquet technique, due to its aggressiveness, can leave marks on the face; they arise due to incorrect pinching by the massage therapist and the individual reaction of the patient.

Possible complications:

  • prolonged facial redness;
  • hematomas and bruises;
  • sagging skin;
  • increase in the number of wrinkles;
  • increased skin oiliness.
