Is not it too early? What plastic surgeries can be done before age 25?

Rhinoplasty does not have a special “age limit”, and the age range of patients turning to plastic surgeons ranges from 16-75 years. The key limitation is not the year of birth in the passport, but problems with the emotional and physical state. A plastic surgeon will absolutely refuse to operate on a 14-year-old teenager, even if his parents agree with the child’s whim - this age is characterized by mental lability, which means that the patient is unable to adequately perceive the importance and specificity of such changes on his face. He will also refuse to operate on an elderly person if in a particular case there are typical “age-related” risks for intervention under general anesthesia.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty methods allow you to:

  • correction of the hump on the back of the nose,
  • correction of slight asymmetry of the nose,
  • complete elimination of the “concave nose”, depressions, dips and helps to remove uneven places,
  • minor changes in the shape of the tip of the nose,
  • change in columella angle,
  • narrow your nostrils
  • correction of the bridge of the nose and the width of the nose itself.

Rhinoplasty without surgery is also indicated if it is necessary to eliminate defects after surgery.

The procedure is suitable for those patients who do not have any problems with breathing or with the nasal septum.

When there are minor imperfections in the shape of the nose, the most common solution to correct these problems is the use of fillers . Correction methods are also used using Botox, threads, and filling with your own fat.

Progress of the operation

Depending on the problem, during the operation the nasal septum is corrected, the necessary manipulations are carried out with the turbinates and other structures of the nose, and then all the necessary stages of the aesthetic component of this operation are performed.

Another question that worries many: “At what age can rhinoplasty be performed?” It is known that only adults are allowed to undergo nose surgery (as, indeed, to all other aesthetic operations). But if the current situation allows you to postpone the operation, you should not rush to the surgeon as soon as you reach the permissible age.

“If the nasal defects were congenital, rhinoplasty can be performed from the age of 18, although the final formation of the bone tissue of the nose ends around 16–18 years, and cartilage only by the age of 20. The optimal age for rhinoplasty is from 20 to 35 years,” explains Solomon Maisovich Abrahamyan, leading surgeon at the Frau Clinic plastic surgery and cosmetology clinic. .

Features of rhinoplasty without surgery

This procedure has some differences from traditional surgery. These include:

  • general anesthesia is not used;
  • after it there is no need for a long period of rehabilitation;
  • speed and ease of the procedure;
  • affordable price;
  • the effect is reversible, approximately one year.

The relative advantage of non-surgical rhinoplasty lies in its reversibility - unlike surgical rhinoplasty, it does not provide lifelong results. Therefore, if for some reason the patient does not like the effect obtained, he can wait for the natural breakdown of the filler or resort to enzyme therapy - injections of hyaluronidase, which breaks down hyaluronic acid instantly.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty can be performed using several methods:

  1. The most effective and popular method of correction is the use of fillers , usually based on hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxyapatite (which is preferable). Correction of symmetry, shape of the tip of the nose, slenderness and narrowness of the back of the nose - these corrections can be carried out with fillers. It is important that the drugs are classified as biodegradable. Permanent (absorbable) fillers are contraindicated for injection, as their use can lead to tissue fibrosis;
  2. Threads are often used for facelifts . Threads are usually used to tighten and correct the contours of the cheekbones and oval of the face. This method also allows you to make changes to the shape of the nose: raise the tip of the nose, smooth out small wrinkles on the bridge of the nose and visually improve the contours of the nose.
  3. Hormonal drugs can also be injected under the skin . To eliminate minor defects, “ Diprospan ” or its analogues can be used; they can visually reduce the width of the nose. But this type of correction should be carried out with caution - in this case, the correct dosage of the drugs used is of great importance. Hormonal drugs are not indicated in all cases;
  4. Correction with your own fat is called lipofilling , in fact it is an analogue of fillers. In order to inject fat into the nasal area, the fat must be removed from somewhere (this procedure is called liposuction) and is often performed under general anesthesia. Therefore, the concept of “non-surgical” correction is difficult to apply to lipofilling.
  5. By correcting the shape of the nose using Botox , it will not be possible to achieve large dramatic changes, but at the same time, it becomes possible to narrow the nostrils, lower the bridge of the nose, the area between the eyebrows, and raise the tip. This method allows you to influence the muscles, but their tension does not in any way affect, for example, the fullness or length of the nose.
  6. Lipolitics are also used to correct the nose . This is a biologically active material that promotes the burning of subcutaneous fat. However, before use, you need to be examined by a specialist to understand whether you have any fatty deposits in your nose area or whether your nose is exclusively “fleshy” and lipolytics will not help.

Contraindications

The shape of the nose changes as a person grows, so any plastic surgeon will not allow rhinoplasty before the age of 18 for cosmetic reasons. It is also not recommended to undergo surgery after 40 years of age: at this age, the process of tissue regeneration slows down, and the risk of complications increases. Other contraindications include:

  • pregnancy and lactation;
  • diseases of the blood, cardiovascular system, liver, kidneys, thyroid gland;
  • viral and infectious diseases;
  • oncological diseases;
  • diabetes;
  • inflammation of the skin in the surgical area.

How much does the procedure cost?

In fact, it all depends on the patient’s goals and initial data; the price depends on the correction method.

So, the most popular type of non-surgical rhinoplasty in our clinic costs 50,000 rubles. The procedure is performed only by the chief physician of the clinic. The drug for correction and its volume are determined only during a face-to-face consultation.

The nasal area is an anatomically very complex area. The huge number of vessels and the passage of important facial veins and arteries make this area dangerous for corrections. Cosmetologists without experience are strictly prohibited from working in this area.

That is why the cost of nose correction is much higher than a simple calculation of the amount of drug administered.

Thread correction costs from 18,000 rubles (2-6 threads).

Correction of the tip of the nose and wings of the nose with Botox will cost 3000-5000 rubles.

Lipolitics are rarely used in the nasal area; the cost of correction is from 8,000 to 15,000 rubles.

Lipofilling is, in fact, a classic operation, prices for which start at 50,000 rubles.

What are the advantages of the new technique?

The absence of bleeding during operations is important, but this may not be the main thing for the patient (after all, he does not see it). The new method gives something different to patients.

  • A more perfect and natural nose without visible traces of the surgeon’s work. The absence of unnecessary damage when working with soft tissues means, first of all, the absence of scars. The traditional method of skin peeling and SMAS always encourages connective tissue to grow as it heals. Due to this, the skin of the nose looks thicker and rougher. Fine details are lost, and the effect of an “operated nose” appears. Bloodless rhinoplasty allows you to preserve the quality of the skin and those fine details that create individuality.
  • Less swelling and bruising - shorter rehabilitation period Bloodless rhinoplasty preserves blood vessels, which means patients have less bruising and swelling after surgery. Here is a photo of my patient at her check-up just 4 days after her nose job.

Agree, she looks and feels quite good for this period. And after 10 days, this patient will be able to return to work. That is, the operation took her only one working week and a weekend. Of course, recovery for some of the more complex surgeries will take longer. But in any case, the recovery time will be significantly reduced - by about one and a half times.

Nose correction with fillers without surgery

With injections you can:

  • Narrow your nose by adding volume along the entire length of the bridge of the nose.
  • Make your nose wider.
  • Remove a slight hump (up to 0.5 cm) or correct the “crocheted nose”.
  • Raise the tip of your nose
  • Remove nasal concavity.
  • Correct the columella (the name given to the small area of skin and cartilage that separates the nostrils).
  • Fillers can correct the crookedness of the nose, so it becomes completely straight.

If there is a small hump, all the recesses nearby are filled with fillers, as a result of which it is leveled. But it will be impossible to remove a large hump using contour plastic surgery - the bridge of the nose can be brought flush with the forehead, but this is not aesthetically pleasing.

The resulting result lasts for about a year or more (depending on the filler used).

The filler is administered through a needle (through injections along the back of the nose) or using a cannula (through the tip of the nose). There is almost no recovery period in this case, but swelling can persist for about 3 days. The next day after the procedure you can go to work.

Methods of performing rhinoplasty

The complexity of the surgical intervention directly depends on the individual characteristics of the patient and the chosen technique. There are open and closed rhinoplasty . The open method involves an incision on the columella; this technique is rarely used at the Frau Klinik.

Closed rhinoplasty, in turn, completely eliminates the presence of external incisions - the operation is performed through small incisions on the side of the mucous membrane, after which there are absolutely no visible scars left. After closed rhinoplasty, bruising and swelling begin to subside within two weeks.

Differences between open surgery and closed rhinoplasty

Example of closed rhinoplasty

The most popular today is closed rhinoplasty using special optics - such operations are called endoscopic rhinoplasty . The advantage of this technique is that the surgeon has the opportunity to see all his manipulations on a high-resolution screen, onto which the image from the endoscope camera is transmitted, which guarantees a more accurate and predictable result of the operation.

In general, rhinoplasty performed for medical reasons has a positive effect in almost every case. If the patient had a congenital or acquired pathology, then after plastic surgery he experiences great relief - the symptoms that could have appeared before the operation disappear (such as, for example, severe difficulty in nasal breathing and associated headaches). The editors would like to thank the specialists at the Frau Klinik plastic surgery clinic for their assistance in preparing the material.

How to choose a filler

The duration of the effect and the safety of the procedure largely depend on the correct choice of filler. For non-surgical rhinoplasty, viscous, dense preparations are chosen.

Types of fillers:

  • based on hyaluronic acid (preparations Juvederm, Belotero, Restylane). They allow you to get an effect for six months to a year;
  • based on calcium hydroxyapatite - Radiesse allows you to get an effect for up to 2 years;
  • based on lactic acid, which is obtained synthetically. The drug is called Sculpture, it allows you to get results for 1.5-2 years.

There are also drugs that can often be found in recommendations for this procedure, but their use is not advisable.

  • based on animal collagen, for example, Zirderm. Due to high allergenicity, it is not used;
  • based on collagen of human origin. These drugs include Autologen and CosmoDerm. They cause severe allergies, so they are not used;

Why is the new method called “Bloodless Rhinoplasty”?

Firstly, the most noticeable effect of the new technology was the reduction in blood loss. There is no bleeding during operations; in the photo you can see that there is almost no blood visible on the napkins that we use.

We get this effect not only due to the introduction of a new method of detachment, but also due to the use of special drugs that prevent bleeding. There are some other secrets that will only be understood by professionals. I won't reveal them.

What types of rhinoplasty use bloodless technology?

I use this method for almost all of my patients.

  • Artists and models need flawless and natural results without long breaks in work.
  • For women with graceful facial features and thin skin, it is important to eliminate the risk of internal scarring.
  • Men with thicker and “heavier” nasal skin are even more problematic patients. Their tissues recover less well, so you need to try to injure them as little as possible.
  • Patients with severe injuries or patients who have undergone unsuccessful rhinoplasty also need to use the most delicate correction methods, because their nose is already injured.

Even if you don’t have any special features of your nose, you probably won’t refuse a more delicate method of rhinoplasty? That's why this method is suitable for literally everyone.
