Cheekbone plastic surgery: which method to choose. Who is suitable for cheekbone augmentation with implants?

The procedure - cheekbone contouring is an event that allows you to correct the oval of the face and make its contour clearer. Under the influence of age-related changes, the skin loses its former elasticity. As a result, the cheekbones become less pronounced, the corners of the mouth droop, and deep folds are formed in the nose and lips.

Cheekbone contouring is a common procedure in cosmetology. It is carried out in specialized clinics or salons. Minimal side effects and complications, a quick recovery period, and a noticeable effect are what make this service popular and in demand among modern women. Young girls who are not satisfied with their natural oval face also resort to it. Look at the photos below of patients before and after the procedure. As you can see, the result is impressive.

Operating principle

The essence of the procedure is the introduction of a filler under the skin - a preparation based on stabilized high-density hyaluronic acid.

Preparations based on hyaluronic acid have been successfully used for many years to correct skin texture (eliminate wrinkles and folds) and contour plastic surgery - volumetric modeling of the face (enlargement of lips, cheekbones, chin, correction of face shape). When the filler is injected under the skin, hyaluronic acid fills the tissue with the necessary moisture, thereby forming the desired volume. The drug reliably holds the desired shape without changing position, is not felt when touched and preserves the natural result of the transformation for a long time.

The effect after administration of the drug is visible immediately after administration of the gel. The result of the injections lasts for a period of 12 to 18 months, then hyaluronic acid is naturally eliminated from the body. If desired, the procedure can be repeated.

Indications for correction of cheekbones and cheeks

Proportional, high cheekbones with a clearly defined contour make a person’s face more attractive.
Unfortunately, reality does not always correspond to the canons of beauty. For many women, cheekbones are not on the list of strengths of their appearance. The cause of an implicit aesthetic defect can be both shortcomings of nature (genetic characteristics) and secondary changes in tissues that have developed as a result of the aging process. The problem in this case can really be called “implicit”. Inexpressive cheekbones do not catch the eye, as is the case with a hump on the nose or a double chin. The situation does not require urgent measures. Many people do not pay special attention to the zygomatic eminence and do not realize that appearance can be radically improved through simple and inexpensive correction of the cheekbones using one of the alternative techniques.

How to determine whether there are indications for aesthetic surgery? Plastic surgery of the cheeks and cheekbones will bring amazing results if the face seems “flat”, if the patient does not have a clear line of the zygomatic eminence, if the cheekbones do not emphasize the beauty of the eyes. Indirect indications for the procedure are deepening of the tear and nasolabial grooves, a strong expression of the fold between the cheek and the lower eyelid. A direct indication for anti-aging correction is the ptosis of the complex of tissues in the middle zone of the face, which is manifested by the formation of “jowls” or “bulldog cheeks”, as well as a general deformation of the facial contour.

A direct indication for cheekbone correction is any degree of facial asymmetry, both congenital and acquired, as well as deformation of the zygomatic eminence area after diseases, injuries or unsuccessful cosmetic procedures. In this case, the patient may be recommended both contour plastic surgery and more radical methods - lipofilling, plastic surgery. The choice of correction method is determined by the specifics of the aesthetic problem.

Indications

Cheekbone modeling is recommended for the following indications:

  • wrinkles and creases in the area of the nasolacrimal groove;
  • age-related changes: loss of natural tissue volumes and the effect of “sunken cheeks”;
  • facial asymmetry.

In addition to restoring facial proportions, correction of the cheekbones also helps prevent the appearance of deep wrinkles in the nasolabial triangle, creating a frame under the skin and thereby keeping the tissue from sagging. Even a small amount of filler injected into the cheekbones can highlight the architecture of the face, making it more precise and expressive.

Who is suitable for cheekbone augmentation with hyaluronic acid?

If you notice that your face is losing its expressiveness, you should consult a cosmetologist. At the age of 25-30, superficial cosmetic procedures are usually sufficient to maintain youth. A more effective solution after 30-35 years is correction of cheekbones with fillers. This technique gives good results if you have:

  • sunken cheeks due to age-related changes or sudden weight loss;
  • pronounced drooping of the skin on both sides of the chin (the so-called “jowls”);
  • too noticeable nasolabial folds. This problem is common in women with thin faces, and correcting the cheekbones with hyaluronic acid will help solve the problem.

For expressionless cheekbones, injectable gels also help give the face sculpture and expressiveness.

Contraindications

The high safety of fillers virtually eliminates the possibility of complications after the procedure. But in order to avoid an individual reaction, cheekbone correction is contraindicated if:

  • autoimmune diseases and thyroid diseases (consultation with an endocrinologist is required);
  • infectious diseases;
  • blood clotting disorders;
  • inflammation of the facial skin in acute form;
  • the presence of other medications in the filler injection area (be sure to tell the doctor about all the injections you did before the procedure).

How does the procedure work?

  1. The cosmetologist applies an anesthetic cream to the skin of the cheekbones.
  2. 20 minutes after the cream has taken effect, the doctor marks the areas for drug administration.
  3. Treats the injection area with an antiseptic, injects the drug into the cheekbones on each side of the face in turn.
  4. At the end of the drug administration procedure, the doctor kneads the gel injection site so that the drug “settles” better and more naturally in the tissues.
  5. The doctor gives recommendations and sends the patient home.

Operating methods

Today, cosmetology offers three main surgical methods for cheekbone lifting.

Circular lift

This is a classic version of a surgical cheekbone lift. Before the operation, which takes a couple of hours, the patient is subjected to general anesthesia. When he falls asleep, the surgeon makes an incision on the temple, leading along the ear. When getting rid of a double chin, the doctor makes another incision, this time under the lower jaw. Next, the skin is separated, and, if necessary, also excess tissue and subcutaneous tissue. Then the doctor tightens the skin and applies stitches.

This operation is performed under general anesthesia.

This is a traumatic method, and recovery is necessary after it. The first seven days are not excluded:

  • severe swelling;
  • pain;
  • numbness;
  • tingling.

The stitches are removed within a week. But the patient must then wear an elastic bandage for a certain period of time so that the swelling can go away faster.

Note! Results will be visible in approximately a couple of months. But the exact time is determined by the characteristics of the body. The effect lasts from seven to ten years.

The results of this procedure are not immediately visible

Classic SMAS lifting

This method is newer. It is used not only against wrinkles and to correct sagging, but also to correct the oval shape and contour of the face. A circular lift only affects the skin, but during SMAS plastic surgery, deeper layers are corrected, which prolongs the result of the operation. Moreover, the operated skin has a natural appearance: it does not look stretched, and the line of the mouth and the shape of the eyes remain the same.

Classic SMAS lifting

This method is similar to a circular lift, but there is a significant difference: the doctor, having made an incision, first of all shifts the fibromuscular layer, tightening the cheekbones. And only after fixing the muscles does he apply sutures, being careful not to stretch the skin.

Note! The doctor removes the stitches 10-12 days after the operation. The effect is visible after a month and a half or two, and lasts 12-15 years.

The effect of SMAS plastic lasts quite a long time

Endoscopic method

This method is the safest in terms of causing injuries. Here the surgeon makes a small incision into the skin along the hairline. This is necessary in order to move and fix the soft tissue. Moreover, each zone has its own type of structure. The long-lasting results are achieved by tightening the muscles.

Having completed the operation, the doctor inserts drainage tubes into the holes and applies a bandage to the patient’s face. Then, as after other types of surgical lifting, there will be swelling that will persist for several weeks. Moreover, sometimes they last for three months. The entire rehabilitation period ends only after three and a half months. But the result lasts up to one and a half decades.

Endoscopic cheekbone lift

Attention! This type of surgical lift is usually performed on the upper half of the face.

Recovery and possible complications

Rehabilitation lasts from 3 to 7 days, during the entire period the patient must follow the following recommendations:

  1. During the first 6 hours, do not touch your facial skin after the procedure;
  2. It is not recommended to use cosmetics for 24 hours after the procedure;
  3. Do not massage or knead the injection site;
  4. During the first 2-3 days, sleep on your back;
  5. To make the swelling go away faster, you can apply pharmaceutical ointments - Traumeel or Troxevasin;
  6. For 2 weeks, do not play sports, do not visit the sauna, bathhouse or swimming pool.

To avoid increased swelling, it is better to plan air travel from the fifth day after the procedure. Contour plastic surgery does not increase the photosensitivity of the skin and does not affect the appearance of age spots. But we strongly recommend using sun protection throughout the year as part of the prevention of photoaging.

The risk of side effects is minimized. After the procedure, the cheekbones look natural, and the patient’s facial expressions are preserved.

Cheekbone enlargement price

The cost of cheekbone correction with hyaluronic acid depends on many factors, including the condition of the skin, the scale and features of the procedure.

Usually the gel does not cause side effects, but in extremely rare cases, slight redness and swelling at the injection site may occur. They go away on their own within 1-3 days. During the recovery period, you should avoid significant physical activity and temperature changes, do not use cosmetics, and carefully but thoroughly cleanse your face before going to bed.

If you want to enlarge your cheekbones with hyaluronic acid, make your face shape more beautiful and expressive, and also get rid of nasolabial folds, contact the cosmetologists of the BL clinic.

Restrictions after surgery

To avoid complications you should:

  • at first, eat liquid and viscous foods - cereals, jelly, soups, etc., avoiding solid foods;
  • after surgery, you should not eat hot, spicy or sour foods through the mucous membrane until the incisions are completely healed;
  • For the first month, it is advisable to give up smoking and drinking alcohol - bad habits slow down the healing process;
  • For the same period, visiting solariums, baths, playing sports, and excessive facial expressions are prohibited.

Types of correction

  • Cheekbone augmentation involves the implantation of silicone implants. When increasing the zygomatic arch in people with a wide upper part and a wide chin, the result may not meet expectations - the cheekbones will only make the face heavier. But for patients with a narrow forehead and narrow jaw, malarplasty allows them to achieve more pronounced cheekbones. Rehabilitation takes place quite quickly - about two months.
  • Reduction malarplasty is often performed for congenital or acquired defects after injury. The operation is technically difficult. Resurfacing of the bone tissue is expected. The recovery process with this type takes up to six months.

Injecting fillers under the eyes

The area around the eyes is the most sensitive. Injecting fillers into this part of the face must be done very carefully. As a rule, a cosmetologist makes only one puncture to correct a defect that serves as an indication for contour plastic surgery. But the distribution of the drug is carried out in different ways:

  • dark circles under the eyes appear due to the fact that venous vessels are visible through the skin, a spasm of small capillaries that deliver oxygen to the tissues occurs. To eliminate this defect, it is necessary to create an additional layer under the dermis layer with a thickness of about 1 mm;
  • bags under the eyes occur due to the displacement of fatty tissue, forming hernial protrusions. This defect can also be caused by fluid stagnation. Filler with low molecular weight hyaluronic acid fills the voids so that the skin tension is uniform throughout the entire correction area;
  • The severity of the nasolacrimal groove can be caused by various factors. Smoothing it allows you to make your look expressive and less tired.

Correct distribution of the gel composition allows you to solve several problems at once.

As a rule, the procedure for introducing boosters affects several areas at once. In one visit, you can correct your cheekbones and areas under the eyes.

When and to whom

The skin around the eyes is very delicate, which is why age-related changes primarily affect this area. Due to excessive dryness caused by exposure to ultraviolet radiation and other external factors, fine wrinkles begin to form. This process begins after the age of 30. However, lack of sleep, poor diet, alcohol abuse and smoking can cause early skin aging, as well as lead to the formation of bruises and bags under the eyes.

The decision to use fillers should be made by a specialist after examining the client and assessing the condition of his skin. But recently, this procedure is increasingly being prescribed to people under 30.

The main indications for the use of fillers in the eye area are:

  • sagging skin. With age, fat bags are redistributed and ligaments are sprained, and the skin tone becomes weak. All this leads to sagging and sagging skin;
  • rosacea Small vessels become visible on the face; this condition occurs due to impaired blood microcirculation in the surface layers of the skin;
  • too pronounced nasolacrimal groove. This defect appears due to sprain of the ligaments that hold the orbicularis oculi muscle;
  • lower eyelid hernia;
  • dark circles around the eyes, which appear as a result of spasm of small blood vessels in this area.

Injecting fillers under the eyes allows you to smooth out facial wrinkles, remove bruises and bags under the eyes, give the skin a healthy look, and make your eyes more pronounced.
