Botox (class A botulinum toxin) is one of the most popular anti-wrinkle treatments in the world. Millions of people around the world inject it every year. From presidents and billionaires to ordinary people who care about their appearance.
Botox is the most studied drug, so it is also successfully used in medicine to treat, for example, neurological disorders. It is the comprehensive study of Botox that allows you to experiment with the drug without compromising its main purpose - blocking neuromuscular transmission, which results in smoothing of the skin.
Today, a new successful technique for administering botulinum toxin has emerged – mesobotox. She combined two procedures at once - the classic injection of Botox (the drug Dysport, which also consists of botulinum toxin, can also be used) and mesotherapy. As a result, several effects are achieved in one procedure.
Rejuvenating effect of mesobotox
The dermis contains myofibrocytes - elements of smooth muscles (including the muscle that lifts the hair), which are innervated by the autonomic nervous system and, when contracted, cause the “goose bumps” effect. When the transmission of a nerve impulse is blocked, the microrelief of the skin is smoothed and the texture is evened out. This property made it possible to use botulinum proteins in a mixture with biorevitalizants based on hyaluronic acid to enhance the effect.
Mesobotox is successfully used in places where facial muscles are woven into the skin, where intramuscular administration of the drug may be dangerous or undesirable in order to smooth out fine wrinkles without disturbing facial expressions, as well as compression wrinkles.
Mesobotox is indicated for:
- fine network of wrinkles around the eyes
- wrinkles on the cheeks when smiling
- wrinkles in the décolleté area
- correction of lip asymmetry and formation of lip reversal
- correction of facial contours as an auxiliary method for relaxing platysma
Mesobotox under the eyes: reviews, photos
For the mesobotox procedure under the eyes, patients with a large number of fine wrinkles are selected, especially in the area of the lower edge of the orbit. Such wrinkles cannot be eliminated with Botox® injections in standard dilution (100 units of Botox per 2.5 ml of saline solution), because such injections will cause permanent paralysis of the orbicularis oculi muscle along the lower edge of the orbit, which will lead to lymphostasis and severe swelling under the eyes. Patients with thin skin are most suitable for this procedure, but this method is not recommended for thick or loose skin.
The drug should be injected into the superficial-middle layers of the dermis, with the bevel of the needle facing upward. Needle diameter – 32G. The injection points should be approximately 5 mm apart (in a checkerboard pattern). We have already said about dilution above, but we will add that some specialists mix botulinum toxin solutions for mesobotox with solutions of hyaluronic acid and vitamins. If you are going to use such cocktails, then they can contain any vitamins except group B, because they contribute to the accelerated elimination of botulinum toxin molecules.
Reviews for mesobotox under the eyes are mostly positive, but you should understand that the use of low concentrations suggests that the duration of the effect will be significantly lower than when using botulinum toxins in standard dilutions. The effect will last on average 2 months (24stoms.ru).

Cuperosis and vascular reactivity of the skin
One of the manifestations of vegetative-vascular dystonia is a feeling of a rush of blood to the face, the so-called vascular reactivity, that is, the reaction (dilation) of blood vessels to the slightest external influences (cold, heat, stress, mechanical impact). This is due to increased N.Vagus tone and stimulation of cholinergic receptors of blood vessels, which leads to their dilation. This condition is a risk factor for the development of rosacea and persistent dilation of blood vessels on the face, which will require long-term treatment. Thus, mesobotox allows you to relieve vegetative tension by blocking the cholinergic (due to acetylcholine) innervation of blood vessels. This simple procedure is an excellent prevention and treatment of rosacea and rosacea.
Important point -
Considering that mesobotox injections last less long (than when using standard dosages of botulinum toxin) and need to be performed more often, it is very important to minimize the risk of patients developing early resistance to botulinum toxins.
The development of secondary resistance also depends on the amount of complex-forming proteins in the botulinum toxin preparation, and the more such proteins, the faster the immune system can begin to produce toxin-blocking antibodies. Therefore, it is best to choose botulinum toxin preparations with a reduced content of complexing proteins. Their minimal amount is contained in the German drug Xeomin® (about 0.6 ng). For example, Botox® and Botulax® already contain about 5.0 ng of complexing proteins, and Dysport contains 4.35 ng. Moreover, most manufacturers of cheaper botulinum toxin preparations do not publish data at all on the content of such proteins in their preparations, which, in our opinion, allows us to be wary of such drugs.

Contraindications
Contraindications to mesobotox include:
- individual negative reactions to the components of the drug;
- inflammatory processes in the affected area (herpes, acne);
- violation of skin integrity, multiple neoplasms (moles, papillomas);
- pregnancy, lactation;
- acute chronic, systemic diseases;
- hemophilia;
- alcohol addiction;
- age up to 18 years.
Injections should be avoided if there is significant tissue ptosis or the use of a number of medications. It is advisable to begin injection correction no earlier than 25 years of age. Doctors more often recommend the use of this technique to women over 40 years of age with fine-wrinkled aging.
How does mesobotox work?
Mesobotox is an injection procedure with diluted botulinum toxin. The drug is not injected into the muscles, but subcutaneously, and affects only individual muscle fibers adjacent to the skin. As a result, partial muscle work is preserved, and, therefore, the face remains with active facial expressions, but without wrinkles.
Another serious effect of the procedure is internal skin rejuvenation. The result of mesobotox is smoothed, beautiful skin without any signs of fine wrinkles. Special additives help improve its color and general condition, which help to activate blood circulation, which means they improve skin nutrition and increase its elasticity, resulting in a significantly improved complexion.
Carrying out injections
The mesobotox procedure takes no more than an hour. The session begins with skin cleansing. The covers are treated with an antiseptic. The skin in the affected area is cooled with ice. It is possible to use anesthetic gels and ointments. The doctor marks the puncture sites.
Injections are performed at the planned points. A microneedle is used. The syringe is inserted at an angle of 45 degrees under the skin to a depth of 2–4 mm. Intramuscular treatment is not used. The drug is injected in small portions (1–4 units) until a compact papule is formed. The distance between punctures during injections is at least 1 cm.
Determination of dosage is individual. The number of units of the drug and the areas treated depend on the existing problems. Typically, mesobotox is used to treat crow's feet, the area around the eyes, tightening the oval, affecting the neck and décolleté. The price of the procedure depends on the scale of treatment and the injection components used. For example, to treat crow's feet, 5–15 units of Botox are used (RUB 2,000–6,000).
The release of ichor during punctures is considered a violation of injection technology. Droplets of blood mean excessive administration of the drug, improper handling of the skin. The technique involves subsequent swelling, which quickly disappears.
The procedure is completed with antiseptic treatment of the integument. Additional application of protective cream is possible. The doctor assesses the patient’s current condition and makes recommendations for recovery. No further observation or medical care is required.
Safety of the procedure
Mesobotox is considered a safer procedure than standard “beauty injections”. The technique is based on injection correction of external problems. Such manipulations are always associated with health risks. It is important to contact trusted clinics and doctors with a license to administer botulinum toxin preparations. When choosing a performer, it is advisable to take into account your own experience and reviews of real patients.
Additional confidence in the safety of the procedure will be:
- control over compliance with sterility;
- unsealing the ampoule, preparing the solution in the presence of the patient;
- the ability to monitor compliance with the expiration dates of the drug components.
Advice. It is necessary to refuse the services of a doctor if during the preliminary consultation questions about health, lifestyle are not asked, recommendations and warnings are not made. The doctor preliminarily assesses the condition and suggests ways to achieve results.
Who should not receive mesobotox?
Experts insist that there is a certain category of girls who cannot undergo botulinum toxin piercing procedure under any circumstances.
Face after mesobotox
Contraindicated:
- In case of acute allergy to botulinum toxins of any group.
- If the session is planned to be carried out in the eye area, then bags on the lower eyelid are a categorical contraindication. Most likely, these are hernias that require removal. It is not only impossible, but also fraught with dangerous consequences, to treat them with mesobotox.
- During pregnancy.
- After surgical intervention, during chemotherapy, antibiotic therapy.
- If there are individual contraindications (for example, certain chronic diseases or characteristics of the body).
If you are under 21 years of age. Although, according to cosmetologists, the optimal time to do mesobotox is after 25.
Preparations for mesobotox
Side effects
Mesobotox is valued for its fewer long-term side effects. Possible temporary troubles. Within 2–5 days the following is observed:
- soreness of the affected areas;
- zonal tissue swelling;
- hematomas;
- severity of drug injection sites;
- redness, skin irritation.
Important! If negative manifestations are delayed for several weeks, temperature increases, or inflammatory processes occur, a doctor’s consultation is necessary.
What effects can be obtained with mesobotox?
Wide eye effect
As people age or out of habit, they often squint their eyes. Because of this, overstrain of the spherical muscles occurs. This problem can be solved with Botox. The effect of wide-open eyes is achieved by using intramuscular Botox injections of regular dilution into the area of the outer border of the eye, and then subcutaneous injections using the mesobotox method are carried out throughout the area around the eyes and near the nose.
Natural face without wrinkles
In order to remove facial wrinkles, the area of the bridge of the nose is pierced with high concentration mesobotox and injections are made at the point of the outer border of the eye. The area around the eyes is treated with a standard concentration, and points in the forehead, around the mouth and on the cheeks are treated with a weak concentration.
Remove enlarged pores
A solution of low concentration can achieve external improvement in skin texture and color. A needle is placed into the pore space and a small amount of the drug is injected there, which leads to a significant reduction in pores.
Eliminate manifestations of rosacea
Botulinum toxin, getting under the skin, begins to affect the hormone serotonin, as well as ion channels responsible for the appearance of many signs of rosacea (the effect of dilated blood vessels) and its chronic form - rosacea. This allows you to normalize neurovascular disorders and, thereby, reduce the severity of redness and uneven skin texture.
Botulinum toxin also has the ability to reduce the hyperactivity of subcutaneous vessels and normalize blood microcirculation in them. This leads to a decrease in persistent erythema and a significant decrease in the intensity of redness as a result of sudden flushes of blood to the face, which often occur in patients with rosacea during physical activity, stress, exposure to hot water, wind, frost and other negative factors.
Recovery period
The skin after the procedure looks unaesthetic - covered with small pimples. Mild tissue swelling is possible. The doctor warns about this in advance. 1–2 days are enough to return to normal appearance. In order for the process to go quickly, without side effects, and the result to be noticeable on time, it is necessary to comply with the following restrictions:
- the first 4 hours after injections are spent in an upright position;
- any influence on the skin (touching, care) is impossible;
- You can’t stay outside for a long time;
- sharp bends, significant physical activity, and sleeping on the stomach are excluded;
- refuse strong heating (sauna, hot baths, solarium, sun);
- You cannot take a wide range of medications, alcohol.
To quickly achieve results, in the first hours do exercises that help develop the muscles of the affected areas. Skin care is carried out as carefully as possible. On the first day, avoid any exposure (even washing). Next, delicate products are used for care. It is advisable to stop using cosmetics for 2-3 days.
The duration of the recovery period depends on the individuality of the body. The process usually takes 2–7 days. The first results of the impact are noticeable within 2–4 days. The maximum effect is visible after 2 weeks. The result lasts 3–6 months. After the period has expired, it is permissible to repeat the manipulation.
