A therapeutic procedure with a significant effect - cryotherapy for hair

Hair diseases are varied and complex to treat. Modern medicine suggests using cryotherapy - a procedure in which the scalp and hair are exposed to cold. The result of such therapy can be relief from partial baldness (alopecia), correction of the level of oiliness in curls and the disappearance of dandruff.

What is cryotherapy

The treatment procedure in question is carried out using liquid nitrogen, the too low temperatures of which put the body into shock. The result of this effect is the alternating contraction and expansion of blood vessels. Thanks to this reaction of the body to cold, it turns out:

  • saturate tissue cells with oxygen;
  • bring the follicles out of the “sleepy” state, which causes active hair growth;
  • improve and accelerate metabolic (metabolic) processes and blood circulation;
  • stimulate tissue nutrition.

Cryotherapy is often performed in combination with other types of cosmetic procedures. The optimal combination is considered to be exposure to liquid nitrogen and subsequent darsonvalization (current exposure).

The effect of cryomassage of the scalp

Hair treatment using cryotherapy occurs due to the normalization of blood circulation in blood vessels, active nutrition of tissues and cells, improvement of metabolic processes in the skin, activation of the immune system, as well as stimulation of the neurohumoral and endocrine systems. Thanks to the anti-inflammatory, exfoliating and rejuvenating properties of liquid nitrogen, the patient is no longer bothered by itching of the scalp, and the severity of oily seborrhea is reduced. As a result, there is an increase in hair density, absence of discomfort, and cessation of hair loss. Hair becomes shinier, stronger and healthier to the touch and visually. In addition to the effectiveness of cryomassage, this procedure is absolutely painless, safe and quite pleasant.

Types of cryotherapy for hair

There are two different types of cryotherapy performed in beauty salons:

1. General . The entire scalp is treated with liquid nitrogen. Used to strengthen hair and reduce its oil content.

2. Local . The specialist works only with a certain area on the head. It is most often used for focal baldness, when it is necessary to start the process of active hair growth only in a specific place.

How effective is the Regenera activa procedure?

Studies have shown that in 90% of cases the procedure is successful and the process of hair loss stops. Hair growth is restored in 85% of cases. Patients owe such a high percentage of successfully performed procedures to the world's leading biologists, physicists, and chemists, because they are currently having a huge influence on trichological developments.

The finished suspension of the drug is characterized by a high content of fibroblasts, cells of the root of the hair follicle, as well as cells that improve hair pigmentation, and cells that stimulate hair growth and improve blood supply to the hair follicle. Thanks to this set of viable cells, hair awakens from hibernation and actively grows.

Indications for the effects of liquid nitrogen on hair

The cryotherapy procedure is carried out in almost every beauty salon. It can be therapeutic and preventive. Specific prescriptions for existing hair and scalp diseases will be given by a dermatologist or trichologist.

Typically cryotherapy is performed for:

For focal baldness,
cryotherapy is performed for:

  • excessively oily hair;
  • focal baldness;
  • dandruff.

Experts recommend conducting a course of cryotherapy after hormonal changes in the body. For example, women will need such a procedure after pregnancy and childbirth or during menopause/menopause.

Plasma therapy procedure

Plasmolifting of hair in trichology is the introduction of one’s own hair growth factors. Platelet-rich plasma is obtained from the patient's own blood. The simplest and most effective method is the centrifugation method - blood in special tubes is processed in a special centrifuge. Single or double centrifugation is used, and double centrifugation is currently considered the most effective option for isolating high concentrations of platelets and, accordingly, hair growth factors from the blood. The resulting platelets are activated using physical and/or chemical methods, after which the resulting cocktail of growth factors is injected directly into the hair loss areas.

Such plasma is absolutely safe from the point of view of the transmission of infectious diseases, for example, HIV or viral hepatitis, and the occurrence of allergic reactions. The procedure involves minimal intervention in the body, is low-traumatic, and at the same time the delivery of growth factors is ensured directly to the area where there is no hair. The duration of therapeutic action for androgenetic alopecia reaches 8-12 months.

Contraindications for hair cryotherapy

The need for a course of treatment with liquid nitrogen is determined by the doctor after examining the patient. This attitude towards the procedure is associated with existing contraindications:

  • persistent high blood pressure and any other pathologies of the heart and vascular system;
  • thrombosis, thrombophlebitis;
  • diseases of the skin of infectious etiology, wounds;
  • period of bearing a child;
  • any chronic diseases that are in the acute stage;
  • epilepsy and migraine even in the stage of long-term remission;
  • neuroses, any deviations in mental health;
  • all sorts of pathological processes of an inflammatory nature (and banal ARVI).

Treatment nuances

What is the difference between the plasma treatment procedure for diffuse hair loss and androgenetic alopecia?

Today, there are several registered methods for obtaining BPRP - Plasmolifting (Russia), Regenlab (Switzerland), Endoret (Spain), Ycellbio (Korea). Depending on the method, we can obtain plasma containing 1000 platelets per µl (PRP) or 500-600 platelets per µl (PPP). Plasma containing 1000 platelets per µl (PRP) leads to stimulation of hair growth and is used to treat androgenetic alopecia, plasma containing 500 cells per µl leads to stabilization of hair loss and is used to treat diffuse hair loss and seborrheic dermatitis.

Method of hair treatment with liquid nitrogen

The procedure is carried out using a wooden rod 30 cm long, at one end of which there is cotton wool soaked in liquid nitrogen. A special cryoapplicator can also be used. It is a tube, at the end of which there is a nozzle for supplying liquid nitrogen to the site of exposure.

Treatment of dandruff, seborrhea and increased fat content is carried out as follows:

  • the specialist treats the scalp with an applicator, moving along the partings from top to bottom;
  • each movement should last no more than 4 seconds;
  • The total duration of all cryotherapy is 20 minutes.

If focal baldness is to be treated, the specialist applies liquid nitrogen to a specific problem area for 2 minutes. It does this intermittently, that is, nitrogen is supplied for 2 - 3 seconds, then a break for the same time.

The cryotherapy procedure is carried out once every three days, the full course is 20 days. Next, a break is taken for 30 days, and the sessions are repeated in the same mode two more times.

The duration of treatment and the advisability of repeating sessions is determined by a trichologist.

Cryosurgical devices: cotton applicator, liquid nitrogen spray, contact cryoprobe

Most often, the procedure in question is one of the components of the treatment of hair and scalp diseases. But in some cases you can resort to cryomassage. The principle of its implementation is the same, but the course is 15 sessions, and one procedure lasts only 5 minutes.

Carboxytherapy - CO2 injections for the treatment of alopecia

The skin of the scalp contains many vessels that supply the hair follicles with nutrients, microelements, and oxygen. One of the most common causes of most hair problems and various scalp diseases are microcirculation disorders and poor nutrition of the scalp dermis. carboxytherapy method effectively and naturally solves these problems by enhancing the physiological processes of blood circulation in the scalp to increase the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles.

Carboxytherapy of the scalp is a procedure for intradermal/subcutaneous administration of medical (i.e., sterile) carbon dioxide using microinjections. Such procedures are carried out to stimulate tissue oxygenation (oxygen saturation) of the cells of the hair follicles and scalp, activate cellular metabolism, as well as stimulate detoxification processes, increase local immunity and normalize sebum secretion.

The method is based and has proven its effectiveness on a large amount of scientific data and medical statistics.

How do carbon dioxide injections work?

Carbon dioxide introduced subcutaneously/intradermally causes the skin cells to need oxygen. The capillaries that deliver oxygen expand, resulting in improved microcirculation directly in the area of the dermal papilla of the hair follicle.

Indications for CO2 gas injections for hair:

  • Diffuse hair thinning
  • Androgenetic alopecia
  • Alopecia areata
  • Seborrheic dermatitis
  • Dandruff
  • Dry scalp
  • Thinning and brittle hair

How does the carboxytherapy procedure for hair work?

CO 2 gas injection device INDAP INSUF (Czech Republic), with which you can control the flow rate, injection duration and volume of injected CO2. The equipment complies with ISO and CE international standards.

A trichologist, using a very small diameter needle (=insulin needle) placed on a special injector, administers subcutaneous/intradermal injections of strictly measured sterile carbon dioxide at equal distances.

There is no risk of infection!

The procedure is absolutely safe, practically painless, only a slight burning sensation may be observed, which quickly passes.

Rehabilitation

There is no rehabilitation period.

Side effects and contraindications

CO2 gas injection procedures are absolutely safe. Only minor secondary effects are possible - redness of the skin and pain at the site of gas injection, which disappear within a few hours.

Contraindications to carboxytherapy are acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, acute thrombophlebitis, gangrene, renal failure, and pregnancy.

Carboxytherapy of the scalp allows:

  • significantly reduce hair loss activity;
  • get rid of dandruff and increased sebum secretion;
  • improve the quality of the hair shaft: reduce fragility and split ends;
  • accelerate hair growth;
  • increase hair density and thickness.

The advantage of the method is its effectiveness, affordability, comfortable tolerability, and a minimum number of contraindications.

Injection of CO2 or carboxytherapy are course procedures. Their number depends on the form of hair loss, the severity of the problem and the general condition of the hair. In the case of monotherapy, our experts recommend a course of 8-10 procedures with an interval of 7-8 days. Carboxytherapy will be more effective in combination with injection and hardware treatment methods. In such cases, treatment regimens are developed individually by a trichologist at our clinic. The effectiveness of the treatment of hair and scalp is objectively assessed/confirmed during an intermediate trichoscopy/phototrichogram.
