The effectiveness of retinoic peeling in the fight against acne

Acne: what is it?

Pimples, or acne, is a serious problem, a disease that is not at all “age-related.” Yes, they usually appear due to hormonal changes that accompany puberty, but sometimes they cannot get rid of acne even in adulthood. There are many ways to combat this problem, and one of the most effective is laser acne treatment! By becoming a patient of our clinic, you can forever clear your skin of acne, get rid of both unpleasant sensations and low self-esteem!

Is it possible to do retinoic peeling for acne* on the face?

The procedure is recommended if there is noticeable pigmentation on the face, post-acne, excessive activity of the sebaceous glands, or acne. Like the Jessner peel, retinoic acne peels can be used if you have acne. But if there are inflammatory elements on the skin, the session will have to be postponed.

Contraindications to this type of exfoliation are pregnancy, lactation, and herpes infection. You should not resort to this procedure immediately after other types of exfoliation.186

Why do acne appear?

The appearance of acne is associated with the work of the sebaceous glands of the facial skin. If they do not work as they should, the skin secretions are too abundant, mix with dead particles of the upper layer of skin - and completely clog the pore. As a result, fat accumulates there and an environment is formed that is very favorable for the growth of bacteria.

As already mentioned, acne usually appears in adolescence, when the body of a growing person experiences a real hormonal explosion. It is hormones, and primarily male hormones (androgens), that cause acne. Androgens cause active growth of hair on the body, are responsible for lowering and deepening the timbre of the voice, and also make the sebaceous glands work more actively - so much more actively that the body cannot keep up with their work, and acne forms.

Female hormones, or estrogens, do not cause acne because, on the contrary, they suppress the activity of the sebaceous glands. For this reason, acne is much more common in young men, and if a girl suffers from this problem, this means that her body produces an increased amount of androgens.

Sebum production and acne

When hormones work normally, sebum appears in quantities that are sufficient to protect the skin and maintain the required moisture in the hair. It (in the form of so-called sebum) is released from the body through the hair follicle along the hair shaft. If there is too much of it, all the fat does not have time to come out - this is where follicle blockages occur. As a result, an anaerobic (airless) environment is formed there, where bacteria with the Latin name Propionibacterium begin to actively develop. There can be more than a hundred such bacteria per square centimeter of skin. If there are too many of them, the follicle becomes inflamed and boils form.

Propionibacterium

The sebum plug formed on the surface of the skin favors the development of Propionibacterium bacteria inside the hair follicle. Bacteria secrete porphyrin, a pigment-like substance that subsequently destroys them. As a result, toxic substances are formed, and gradually the concentration of toxins reaches a high level, causing the inflammatory process to begin and a boil to form on the skin.

WHAT TO COMBINE THE PROCEDURE WITH?

Chemical peeling causes renewal of the epidermis and triggers active regeneration at the cellular level. The procedure has one disadvantage - it can have an aggressive effect on the skin. To improve the results of treatment and rejuvenation, pay attention to proper care - you may have to change the standard program. At the clinic you can buy professional cosmetics for active restoration, nutrition, and moisturizing of the skin. It increases the effectiveness of salon procedures and allows you to consolidate the results.

You can also combine peelings with contouring, Botox, thread lifting - if there are pronounced age-related changes. Mesotherapy and biorevitalization will saturate the cells with moisture, vitamins and improve the overall condition of the skin, solving the problem of hydration deficiency.

So how does light treatment for acne work?

The principle of treatment is similar to skin cleansing and mole treatment. The fact is that the above-mentioned pigment porphyrin is similar in structure to melanin: it absorbs light. Therefore, yellow, green and infrared radiation from a xenon lamp is used to destroy it. Exposure to green and yellow light causes the formation of reagent substances as a result of photochemical transformations that directly destroy bacteria. And infrared rays accelerate the process of phagocytosis, and also stimulate the opening of pores, blood circulation, and the body’s fight against inflammation.

Features of problematic epidermis

If the peeling is not chosen correctly, the skin can be injured and inflammation will spread to the entire surface of the face.

Therefore, it is better to entrust the choice of procedure to a cosmetologist who will assess the condition of the skin during examination and prescribe the appropriate type of cleaning.

Sometimes external inflammation indicates internal problems of the body; the doctor recommends eliminating the cause of the rash, and only then treating the consequences in the form of acne.

Otherwise, the rash will constantly progress. Choosing the right cleanser depends on the type of acne.

There are three groups of inflammations in total:

  • comedones (blackheads);
  • internal acne;
  • acne (purulent inflammations of various sizes).

Very often, those with oily skin experience several types of acne at the same time.

Peeling can quickly deal with the problem and eliminate it completely.

Dermatologist-cosmetologist Irina Kotova talks about the care and treatment of problem skin:

Anti-acne procedure: laser radiation comes to the rescue

Today, ELOS therapy is considered a very effective way to get rid of skin problems (it is more correct to write it in Latin - ELOS, since it stands for “electro-optical synergy”). It is based on the combination of two types of laser radiation: yellow-green and infrared. At the same time, green radiation promotes coagulation of blood vessels in problem areas, and infrared radiation warms the skin in the area of the sebaceous glands, as well as the glands themselves.

In our studio, you can treat acne using irradiation with a xenon lamp, which is designed in such a way that yellow and green radiation is as intense as possible. The use of ELOS therapy promotes both healthy skin and the death of harmful bacteria. In this case, the epidermis is not damaged at all, but foreign substances accumulated in the follicle are effectively destroyed. The effect becomes visible after the first procedures, and the full course allows you to achieve an impressive result.

Acne removal: sequence

Treatment of acne with a laser is as follows and proceeds in the following order:

  • Makeup remover The skin undergoes maximum cleansing: traces of cosmetics and dust are removed not only from the surface of the skin, but also from the pores.
  • Treating the skin with a special gel. Before this, the patient puts on dark glasses that will protect the eyes from radiation.
  • The procedure itself: treatment of the skin with flashes of light. In one flash, the applicator treats approximately two and a half square centimeters of skin. In this case, the patient does not feel any pain: the strongest tactile sensation is a slight tingling sensation. Destruction of the epidermis as a result of heat treatment also does not occur, because the operating temperature is quite gentle, and the applicator is properly cooled. The “smart” device itself will prevent the device from overheating and will not produce a flash of too high intensity.
  • Treating the skin after surgery with creams and lotions.

After the procedure, the skin may turn red. This is not something to be afraid of: the process is completely natural. Moreover, the redness will be very short-lived: the skin will take on its natural color in just one and a half to two hours.

The procedure for laser skin treatment to remove acne does not require any special rehabilitation, since the destruction of the skin, in fact, does not occur. A couple of things to avoid are applying makeup to the treated areas of the face, as well as exposure to direct sunlight, as this may delay the treatment.

Acne can appear not only on the face. Using ELOS therapy, you can treat the forehead, cheeks or chin, and other parts of the body: chest, arms, back.

DRUGS

The clinic's doctors use chemical peels with different compositions. TCA (trichloroacetic acid), PRXT-33, almond, and milk peels are effective against enlarged pores. The procedure eliminates dead cells, launches active regeneration processes, peelings are well tolerated even by sensitive skin.

Glycol formulations help with enlarged pores. They exfoliate, smooth, tighten, and improve the overall appearance. Enzyme peels are superficial; they cleanse the skin well and make pores less noticeable. The enzymes in their composition draw out all the contents from the pores and have a leveling effect.

When is the result visible?

Let's not exaggerate: usually not right away. However, after the second or third procedure, the effect becomes obvious. To completely get rid of all acne, you need to conduct a session of 5-6 to 10-12 procedures. The specific number of procedures is prescribed by the cosmetologist after consultation. To do this, a specialist will need to assess how severely your skin is affected and how intensive treatment is required. If we consider that the optimal interval between procedures is three days, then we can draw an encouraging conclusion: even the most severe acne lesions can be cured in just over a month. True, in such cases it is usually necessary to take another course, about a month after the previous one. Repeated playthroughs can guarantee a truly long-lasting effect.

The fact that the desired effect persists for a long time after the procedure is explained by the positive effect of light not only on problem areas, but also on the skin as a whole. Laser radiation stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, healing the upper layer of skin, and narrowing pores. The skin becomes even (tubercles and compactions disappear), smooth and acquires a uniform healthy color.

Home Recipes

You can only use surface cleaning, chemical or mechanical.

Salt-kefir

For 100 ml of kefir, take one teaspoon of table salt (you can take finely ground sea salt), mix everything.

Lemon (lime)

Squeeze the juice of one lemon or lime. Dilute with mineral water in proportions 1:1. Moisten a cotton pad, wipe your face with it in several stages: wipe the first time, let it dry, wipe again, repeat 3-4 times.
