A non-surgical facelift with threads involves the introduction of patented APTOS , according to a developed procedure protocol.
During the procedure, the skin is tightened and fixed in its new position. APTOS thread procedure is a clear oval face, soft and natural features and, of course, smooth, youthful skin.
There are two types of APTOS threads:
- Absorbable sutures consist of a polymer of ɛ-caprolactone and L-lactic acid. These threads are used most often in cosmetology, since they ensure the skin produces its own collagen and elastin even after the threads disintegrate.
- Non-absorbable threads are made of polypropylene and are used to correct age-related changes for patients over 45 years of age.
According to their shape, threads are divided into linear, spiral and needle-shaped. Each type of thread has its own purpose and insertion zone. The most commonly used are needle threads, which have notches along their length and provide noticeable tissue lifting. Spiral threads are usually used to correct the facial area.
Indications for non-surgical lifting with APTOS threads
A wide range of threads and APTOS methods allows the use of thread technologies on various areas of the face and body:
- drooping tissue of the midface and chin
- drooping of the outer edge of the eyebrows
- nasolacrimal grooves
- nasolabial folds
- wrinkles on the forehead
- decreased elasticity of body tissues (sagging skin of the arms, chest, abdomen, thighs).
More often, APTOS threads are prescribed to patients aged 38 to 40 years, whose skin loses tone, and who want to give their face a more clearly defined oval face. Since thread lifting is performed under local anesthesia, it is also indicated for patients who are contraindicated for prolonged general anesthesia.
All manipulations are performed through small punctures, which after a while become completely invisible, which makes thread lifting especially attractive to men.
APTOS threads can also be a suitable solution when it is necessary to renew the effect of a classic facelift performed several years ago.
For younger patients, a different type of APTOS thread may be recommended at the first signs of aging.

The essence of nose correction with threads
It is impossible to talk about thread lifting as a full replacement for rhinoplasty. The procedure involves minor correction of the shape and length of the nose by tightening the soft tissues. Ligature reinforcement of the face works on the same principle.
The correction effect is achieved by introducing special threads under the skin. They take on part of the load and strengthen the collagen framework, thereby smoothing out unevenness and tightening soft structures.
Externally, this is manifested by a displacement of tissue relative to its previous location and a reduction in volume. The notches applied to the ligature improve fixation and prolong the result of the procedure.
In Russia, Aptos threads, created by the domestic surgeon M.A. Sulamanidze, are most often used for rhinoplasty.
How does the procedure work?
The procedure is carried out using self-absorbing threads based on polylactic and caprolactic acids with microprotrusions along the entire length. The composition of absorbable threads, including polycaprolac and polylactic acid, provides a lasting effect and stimulates the production of collagen types 1 and 3, providing an additional effect of tissue revitalization. The result is a tightened oval, natural volumes restored without fillers, improved skin quality and thickening. Not only the contour changes, but also the quality of the skin. Indications for the technique and the choice of Aptos threads are determined not by age, but by the condition of the tissue. Therefore, it is impossible to say that it is suitable only for young or only for older patients.
APTOS threads have a high degree of biocompatibility and strength; allergies and natural rejection are excluded. Thanks to the strong fixation of the threads, the risk of their displacement is minimized, the threads do not tear or dissolve over time, so the effect of a non-surgical lift will last for a long time, and if necessary, after a few years the result can be updated, for this it will be enough to just slightly tighten the threads without resorting to more traumatic rejuvenation techniques.
The procedure takes on average 30 minutes. There is no swelling or traces left from the intervention, and the result will be noticeable immediately. The recovery period will take 2-3 days, you will not be recommended to visit the sauna or use cosmetics, and it is advisable to sleep only on your back.
The effect achieved in 30 minutes of the procedure lasts up to 2-2.5 years. What is non-surgical rhinoplasty

Complications after lifting
