The procedure for lip augmentation from the choice of technique to the result. Photo

An attractive face is distinguished by symmetrical, proportional features, which largely depends on the beauty of the lips. They are the first to receive attention in the process of conversation and communication. The main evaluation criteria are their clearly defined shape and well-groomed appearance. Unfortunately, nature does not reward everyone with such dignity from birth. And with age, their aesthetics are lost. Modern injection cosmetology using contouring allows you to give your lips a pleasant volume and beautiful outline. Lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid at Dr. Korchagina’s clinic is a great way to rejuvenate your lips and give them volume.

Features of the lip augmentation procedure

Lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid

is a minimally invasive correction method used in cosmetology. Based on the principle of injection of biodegradable fillers with hyaluronic acid. The purpose of the manipulation is to correct the shape, create the desired volume, and eliminate age-related or natural deformations.

Biodegradable fillers

- These are absorbable gel-like preparations. They are removed from tissues after 6 - 12 months (depending on the density, particle size and area of administration). The most popular fillers in this group in cosmetology are gels with hyaluronic acid. Lip augmentation with this polysaccharide allows you to achieve results without the use of a surgical scalpel. The filler is absolutely biocompatible with the human body. The immune system does not perceive it as a foreign substance and does not cause rejection.

Lip contouring, unlike surgical correction, is low-traumatic and safe. The service is equally popular among both women and men (usually to eliminate various congenital and acquired defects).

What happens during skin biorevitalization

Hyaluronic acid is now included in many cosmetic products. However, its superficial application brings the same superficial benefits, without helping to cope with the lack of moisture in the skin.

Special preparations for biorevitalization allow you to “deliver” HA into the deep layers of the skin for action at the cellular level.

Hyaluronic injections trigger the processes of revitalization and deep hydration of the skin (“revitalization” translated from Latin means “return of life”).

Intensive skin hydration causes obvious external changes: turgor and color improve, wrinkles are smoothed out. But the main changes occur at the cellular level - the production of collagen, elastin and its own hyaluronic acid is activated there.

Biorevitalization procedures use preparations based on synthesized hyaluronic acid, whose composition and properties are close to our own HA. In this case, cosmetologists use two types of HA.

Injections of high-molecular hyaluronic acid (this is the kind of HA that is a component of our skin) provide long-term skin hydration and detoxification, prevent inflammatory processes, and create optimal conditions for cell function.

Compositions based on low molecular weight hyaluronic acid activate natural tissue renewal, and therefore are used when it is necessary to stimulate regenerative processes in the skin.

After a course of biorevitalization, the skin's hydro reserve is restored, its tone and elasticity increase, color improves, and resistance to photodamage is formed.

The healing and rejuvenating effect of biorevitalization is noticeable after the first procedure, however, a lasting result (from 3 months or more, depending on the age and condition of the skin) is achieved after a course of treatment.

The cost of biorevitalization depends on the chosen drug and the recommended number of sessions. How many biorevitalization procedures are needed can only be decided by a dermatocosmetologist after examining the patient. On average, a treatment course includes 3-5 sessions, which are prescribed at intervals of 2-3 weeks.

Indications for biorevitalization

Skin moisturizing procedures are carried out for a variety of reasons and indications. Thus, biorevitalization is indispensable before and after sea holidays. Prepared skin will become less susceptible to the aggressive effects of ultraviolet radiation, and the tan will lie on it more evenly. And after returning home, the procedures will help minimize the effects of the destructive effects of salt and sun.

In addition to facial moisturizing, biorevitalization of the hands, neck and décolleté is most often performed. However, procedures can be carried out in any other areas.

A course of biorevitalization prescribed by an experienced specialist can help cope with the following problems:

  • dryness, dehydration of the skin;
  • decreased tone and elasticity;
  • “floating” oval of the face;
  • dull complexion, “smoker’s skin”;
  • wrinkles and folds;
  • small wrinkles around the eyes and lips;
  • acne, post-acne, scars (biorevitalization for acne, biorevitalization for post-acne);
  • dark circles, bags under the eyes;
  • enlarged pores, excessive oily skin;
  • hyperpigmentation;
  • consequences of sun exposure;
  • rosacea (biorevitalization for rosacea);
  • preparation for chemical peeling or contouring;
  • prevention of skin aging at a young age, etc.

Biorevitalization is carried out with caution for rosacea (provided there are no papules).

Contraindications to the procedure may include:

  • tumor processes;
  • infectious diseases;
  • skin diseases;
  • exacerbation of chronic ailments;
  • tendency to form keloid scars;
  • individual body reactions to biorevitalizant drugs;
  • pregnancy, lactation, etc.

What is hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the body of mammals and humans. According to its chemical composition, hyaluronic acid belongs to mucopolysaccharides. It is part of many biological fluids and tissues. It is found in large quantities in the skin and is involved in its regeneration.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW! With age and under the influence of unfavorable environmental factors, such as ultraviolet radiation, dermal cells stop producing hyaluronic acid.

Due to its high molecular weight (from 800 to 2 million daltons) and special structure, the molecules of this polymer have the ability to hold huge amounts of water (1 molecule of the substance binds 1000 molecules of H2O). This property makes it a unique skin and tissue moisturizing product. In addition, hyaluronic acid stimulates collagen production.

After injection, the filler penetrates the lip tissue, where it combines with water molecules. Evenly filling and moisturizing the lips, the filler corrects their volume and contour, making the surface smooth and the tissue elastic.

Drugs used

The lip augmentation procedure is painless. The use of local anesthesia is indicated only for patients with very sensitive skin. Some fillers already contain an anesthetic.

At the Absolut Med Clinic, only safe drugs from European and South Korean manufacturers are used for lip augmentation: Juvederm, Restylane, Ivor, Neuramis. All of them are certified in the Russian Federation.

The drug Juvederm is produced by the American company Allergan. It contains no components of animal origin (proteins or toxins). The filler is easily injected into the lip tissue and retains its structure for 9-12 months. One of the components of the drug is a phosphate buffer, which ensures the absence of inflammatory reactions.

The drug Restylane is produced by the Swedish company Q-Med. It contains molecules stabilized using special technology (NASHA) hyaluronic acid. The components used to make the filler are obtained from a non-animal environment using bacterial synthesis. This allows you to achieve maximum biological compatibility of the drug with the human body.

The drug Yvoire, manufactured by LG Life Sciences (South Korea) is a 5th generation filler based on hyaluronic acid. In the production of drugs, hyaluronic acid is used, obtained by microbiological fermentation, which is ideally compatible with the tissues of the human body. The drug is 100% biodegradable, i.e. Over time, it completely disintegrates and is naturally eliminated from the body.

The drug Neuramis is produced on the basis of the international research biopharmaceutical corporation MEDYTOX (South Korea). The fillers use hyaluronic acid from the Japanese manufacturer Shiseido, which guarantees the safety and high quality of the products. The composition also includes an anesthetic component, which has an analgesic effect, making the procedure as comfortable and painless as possible.

The fillers used for the procedure are 100% compatible with the human body, therefore they do not cause side effects and do not provoke allergies. The only exception may be individual intolerance to a certain component.

Hyaluronic acid, which is part of fillers, has a number of other beneficial effects:

  • Accelerates natural collagen production. It is he who is responsible for the plasticity of lip tissue;
  • Even after the injected hyaluronic acid has been absorbed, collagen continues its action, prolonging the resulting effect for a long time;
  • A lifting effect is observed - rejuvenation, lips become more toned and full, their contours are clearly visible.

Indications for lip contouring

Lip contouring with biodegradable fillers is recommended in the following cases:
1. Aesthetic correction:

  • individual preferences (desire to make lips more voluminous and expressive);
  • disproportionate size of the upper and lower lips;
  • consequences of injury and unsuccessful plastic surgery (scars);
  • asymmetry;
  • too thin, flat lips.

2. “Anty-age” therapy (rejuvenation):

  • drooping corners of the mouth;
  • uneven or unclear lip contour;
  • dryness of the red border, peeling, pallor of the lips;
  • multiple wrinkles, skin creases near the mouth.

Injection lip augmentation is an aesthetic procedure that is performed only at the request of the patient. Correction with gel with hyaluronic acid is possible at any age in the absence of contraindications.

Biorevitalization and contour plastic surgery. What's better?

Confusion often arises between biorevitalization and contouring procedures, since both use hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin, identical in structure to our own. So what's the difference between them? Let's try to figure it out. In biorevitalization, the so-called unstabilized HA is used, that is, not held together by additional bonds between molecules. Thus, upon entering the skin, such a drug is immediately exposed to the enzyme hyaluronidase, breaking down into “structural units”. That is, the drug itself remains in the skin for no more than 3-7 days, and the effect is due to the synthesis of its own HA and moisturizing the skin. In contouring procedures, stabilized HA is used, that is, “cross-linked” with many intermolecular and intramolecular bonds that prevent its destruction by hyaluronidase. As a result, the effect is due precisely to the presence of the drug in the skin, which allows you to restore tissue volume and fill wrinkles and folds. Thus, the mechanism of action and purpose of these procedures are fundamentally different from each other. Separately, I would like to note that different types of HA combine well with each other and enhance each other’s effects.

Contraindications for lip augmentation

Lip augmentation using hyaluronic acid fillers is a minimally invasive, virtually painless procedure that does not pose a health hazard. However, there is a small list of contraindications:

  • pregnancy;
  • mental disorders and epilepsy;
  • infections, herpes, wounds and cracks in the mouth and lips;
  • allergies to the drugs used;
  • bleeding disorders.

It is not advisable to carry out the procedure during menstruation, as hormonal changes reduce the pain sensitivity threshold. More detailed information about the conditions under which lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid gel is not recommended will be provided to you by a cosmetologist at your preliminary consultation.

How is lip plastic done with hyaluronic acid?

On the eve of the procedure, the doctor conducts an interview with the patient, during which he explains in detail the essence and stages of the manipulation. The doctor will collect anamnesis and ask questions about the presence of contraindications. During the conversation, your wishes and expectations for the results of lip correction are discussed. A cosmetologist will help you choose the appropriate filler, depending on the condition of your skin, age and other criteria.

The drug with gel is supplied to beauty centers in disposable, hermetically sealed syringes. The kit includes a thin needle that does not cause discomfort to the patient during the injection process and does not leave marks on the skin. Sequence of procedure:

  1. Makeup removal (removal of cosmetics) and disinfection with antiseptics.
  2. The doctor administers local anesthesia using a special cream. You will not feel pain during the session.
  3. Filler with hyaluronic acid is injected into strictly defined points with a thin needle. The dose of the drug is determined depending on the desired result.
  4. After the injections, the cosmetologist will perform a light massage of the area, ensuring even distribution of the gel inside the lips.
  5. The procedure ends with the application of an antiseptic and soothing lotion.

Most modern fillers contain anesthetic substances. Therefore, the use of additional anesthetics is not required. The duration of the session is from 10 to 30 minutes. After administration of the drug, slight redness and swelling of the lips may be observed, which quickly disappear. No rehabilitation required.

The effectiveness and advantages of lip augmentation techniques

Non-surgical lip surgery allows you to turn your ideas of beauty into reality and achieve the desired look. This is an alternative to surgical aesthetic surgery that does not require long-term recovery and does not cause adverse consequences for the body.

When correcting asymmetry, the gel can only be injected into the problem area. Skin trauma is minimal. Hyaluronic acid is not rejected, since its structure is identical to that found in the body. If for some reason the patient is not satisfied with the result of plastic surgery, then there is an antidote - the enzyme hyaluronidase, which quickly breaks down acid.

The result is assessed after a few days, when the swelling goes down. After the procedure, the patient’s appearance is transformed: the lips look natural and seductive, small wrinkles around the mouth disappear, and the corners are raised. Aesthetic defects disappear or are reduced. The skin of the lips becomes juicy and moisturized. This effect lasts from 6 to 18 months, which depends on the chosen filler and the individual characteristics of the body.
