Today, people who want to enlarge their lips can use hyaluronic acid fillers. Scientific research has shown that, from an anatomical point of view, this is the most optimal option for treating this area.

The cosmeceuticals market is constantly evolving and new products are regularly appearing on it. Today, most companies' product lines have products specifically designed for the perioral area.

What are fillers? The essence of the method

Filler (from the English “fill” - “fill”) is a dense gel-like product for non-surgical facial rejuvenation. It fills voids and replenishes lost volume, allowing you to get rid of creases and the consequences of ptosis (drooping of the skin). If desired, it can be used to correct the shape and increase the volume of the lips. Preference is given to products containing hyaluronic acid, a substance found in the human body that stimulates the production of elastin and collagen. Contour plastic surgery is performed by injection and does not require long recovery.

Effect of the procedure, pros and cons

Lips become larger immediately after the procedure, but the final result should be assessed after 4-7 days. During this time, the hyaluronic filler attracts moisture, creating additional volume and launching renewal processes. The skin smoothes out, becomes moisturized, and takes on a healthy and attractive appearance. Hyaluronic acid preparations are characterized by a cumulative effect: even when the product completely leaves the body, the lips will look better than before the first session. The duration of preservation of the result depends on the individual characteristics of the body (metabolic speed, age) and varies from 6 to 13 months. Then the procedure is repeated.

Benefits of lip filler injections:

  • Safety. Hyaluronic acid is of natural origin and is therefore well tolerated by the body. The procedure is carried out using high-quality preparations and the finest needles, which eliminates the possibility of developing allergic reactions, the appearance of scars and cicatrices. You can resort to contour plastic surgery at any age, starting from 18 years.
  • Efficiency. Hyaluronic acid is evenly distributed in tissues without moving downward under the influence of gravity. The result of lip correction with fillers becomes visible immediately, but reaches its maximum within a week. After the second and subsequent procedures, the effect will be much better due to nutrition, hydration and renewal of the skin.
  • Painless, no rehabilitation period. The use of an anesthetic avoids discomfort and unpleasant sensations. Increasing lip volume takes no more than 40 minutes and does not require long recovery. Thanks to this, you can go about your business immediately after the session.
  • Affordable price. As a rule, the procedure can be done with one syringe. The cumulative effect allows you to reduce the amount of gel with each session.

The disadvantages of injections include a temporary effect and the possibility of developing adverse reactions in the form of edema, hyperemia, hematomas (they completely disappear within a few days).

Who is suitable for lip contouring?

As a rule, clients seeking to gain or restore plumpness and sensuality, as well as an attractive symmetrical shape, ask for lip augmentation. In addition, older patients resort to plastic surgery due to the natural “drying” of their lips in order to get rid of disharmony in their appearance.

Fillers will help solve problems in the following cases:

  • Lips are too thin or have lost their original volume due to aging
  • Lips become discolored due to dehydration
  • You need to raise the corners of your mouth
  • Poor or uneven lip silhouette
  • Lips are flaky, wrinkled, and very thin
  • Unexpressed relief in the so-called zone. cupid's arches
  • Asymmetrical outline or disproportionate dimensions

Stages of the procedure

There is nothing complicated in the lip contouring procedure itself, however, for its implementation to be successful, the cosmetologist must be experienced and competent.

Most often, fillers are supplied by manufacturers in pre-filled syringes with needles or microcannulas. Opening a sealed package must certainly occur in front of the client. Many dermal implants initially contain lidocaine to make the injection process painless and relieve discomfort. At the client’s request, the cosmetologist can provide auxiliary anesthesia by covering the lips with an anesthetic cream and leaving it for 20-30 minutes.

Next cosmetologist:

  • Will prepare the instrument
  • Disinfects the treated area
  • If necessary, apply markings
  • Using injections, he will inject the drug into the targeted points.
  • Manually massage treated areas to distribute filler evenly

The procedure takes no more than an hour, even with additional anesthesia. The filler injections themselves are done within 10-15 minutes.

Recovery after contouring

The rehabilitation period lasts from 3 to 5 days. All this time, the lips may be swollen, with traces of hematomas and bruises. Within 24-48 hours after the procedure, you should avoid excessive facial expressions. In addition, for 14 days you will not be allowed to take a steam bath or sauna, or sunbathe in a solarium. Facial massage is absolutely contraindicated for 10 days after injections.

Indications and contraindications

The use of lip fillers is relevant in the following cases:

  • lack of volume (from nature or due to aging);
  • asymmetry (congenital, caused by injury or age-related changes);
  • unclear lip contour;
  • drooping corners of the mouth;
  • dryness, need for skin rejuvenation.

Contraindications to lip correction with fillers are:

  • acute infectious, autoimmune, oncological diseases;
  • chronic pathologies in the acute phase;
  • inflammation and rashes in the area of gel injection;
  • bleeding disorders;
  • periods of lactation and pregnancy;
  • individual intolerance to the components of the drug;
  • predisposition to the formation of keloid scars;
  • exacerbation of herpes;
  • diabetes.

How to choose a drug

We offer a large selection of lip fillers based on hyaluronic acid made in America, France, and Austria. The product is selected individually, taking into account the individual characteristics of the patient’s body, desires and financial capabilities. The following drugs are in greatest demand:

  • "Styling". Well tolerated, provides lasting results. The presence of mannitol (a natural antioxidant) in the composition guarantees the maximum possible effect.
  • Juvederm. Contains lidocaine, which has an analgesic effect and minimizes discomfort.
  • "Amaline." A proven product used since 2004. It has a high degree of purification and an affordable price (8000 rubles per 1 mm).
  • "Princess volume." An excellent solution for young clients aged 18 to 30 years.

Price

The cost of lip fillers depends on the product used and its quantity. The price of 1 ml of gel varies between 8-12 thousand rubles.

How is lip augmentation performed with filler?

With age, the body produces less and less hyaluronic acid, as a result the skin becomes drier and less elastic, wrinkles and folds form on it, and the mouth loses volume. The artificial introduction of filler allows you to solve these problems, smooth out the relief, and increase the level of moisture. You can significantly enlarge your lips with hyaluronic acid or just correct minor defects while maintaining natural features - it all depends on the amount of the drug and the method of its administration.

First, the specialist selects a suitable gel: denser preparations are used to correct the contour, and softer ones are used for filling. The next stage is the introduction of filler according to an individually selected scheme. A thin needle is used for this. You can completely pump up your lips or limit yourself to just one of them. At the end, the cosmetologist performs a delicate massage so that the gel is better distributed.

Features of the procedure, care after the procedure

Contour plastic surgery does not require preliminary preparation and takes up to 40 minutes. The procedure is carried out in the following sequence:

  1. Preparation. The cosmetologist examines the lips, determines the required amount of gel and the injection site. Apply anesthetic cream and cover with film. Once the anesthetic has taken effect, the doctor cleans and disinfects the skin.
  2. Injections. The gel is injected using a thin syringe and is evenly distributed in the tissues with massage movements.
  3. Skin cleansing. The cosmetologist removes droplets of blood with sterile cotton wool and gives advice on further care.

To ensure that lip fillers are securely fixed, you need to follow your doctor’s recommendations. During the first 5-7 days, it is forbidden to massage the mouth area and kiss. For 2 weeks you need to avoid physical activity and anything associated with sudden temperature changes (smoking, eating ice cream, sunbathing, visiting baths, saunas, solariums).

Cost of the procedure

The price of this procedure includes the price of the drug itself and the services of a cosmetologist who administers it by injection. In Ufa, the average cost of a procedure using proven drugs ranges from 12 to 16 thousand rubles.

If you see an advertisement that promises an incredible effect for an amount less than 9 thousand rubles, we are talking about either a new and untested drug that has just entered the market, or about its unpopular analogue. Also, low prices are often offered by inexperienced cosmetologists who want to practice and “get the hang of” on patients.

Recovery period and care

The effect of lip augmentation will be noticeable immediately after the procedure. However, it is possible to fully evaluate the result when the swelling completely subsides. After about two weeks, the patient needs to come back for a follow-up appointment. The specialist will conduct an examination and decide whether additional correction of the lip shape is needed.

During the two weeks between doses, it is recommended to follow these instructions:

  • on the first day, decorative cosmetics should not be applied to the lips and the area around them;
  • Avoid hot food and drinks for 24 hours;
  • give up cigarettes and alcohol for 72 hours;
  • It is also advisable to drink more water for three days;
  • reduce any physical activity for a few days;
  • refrain from kissing for 3-5 days;
  • do not visit the sauna or solarium for a week;
  • do not sleep on your stomach;
  • use chapstick and Bepanten ointment to heal the skin after injections.

In rare cases, the body may have a negative reaction to fillers. During the first day, the following symptoms are acceptable:

  • redness,
  • swelling,
  • soreness,
  • small hematomas at the injection sites.

If serious side effects occur (numbness, severe itching, lumps, significant swelling), you should immediately contact your cosmetologist.
