Hand lipofilling at Abrielle

Lipofilling
– minimally invasive aesthetic surgery for figure correction, facial contouring, skin restoration and rejuvenation. The essence of the technique is to introduce the patient’s own fatty tissue to compensate for the lack of soft tissue volume and improve the quality of the skin at the cellular level - to stimulate the synthesis of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
Lipofilling allows you to enlarge your breasts, improve the shape of your buttocks and legs, and give your lips, cheekbones and chin the desired volume. Moreover, with the help of lipofilling, scars, pigment spots, and stretch marks (striae) can be made less noticeable. The procedure has proven itself as an effective remedy against wrinkles, signs of age-related changes and “painful thinness”
. Own fat cells transplanted from other areas undergo special treatment and then are injected using the principle of fillers with special instruments (using a cannula). Recovery after lipofilling is relatively easy - slight swelling and bruising are possible, which disappear within 5-7 days, unless, of course, we are talking about full-fledged liposculpture of the body. Thus, lipofilling does not leave scars on the skin, and its own fatty tissue does not cause rejection or allergies and takes root favorably. An additional advantage is that you can remove “fat traps” and get rid of the notorious “problem areas” (tummy, sides, riding breeches).

LIPOFILLING IN THE PIROGOV CLINIC IS AN OPERATION IN THE BEST PLASTIC SURGERY CLINIC IN ST. PETERSBURG.

*according to the ratings of the portals “Doctor Peter” and “Fontanka.ru” in 2021. Read more.

The procedure also allows you to solve cosmetic problems - get rid of nasolabial folds, remove the nasolacrimal groove, replenish the volume in the temple area to make the oval of the face more youthful and the skin well-groomed.

In combination with other plastic surgeries, this procedure can help improve the aesthetic outcome. For example, lipofilling after blepharoplasty (eyelid correction) allows you to “nourish” the skin of the periorbital area, preserving its youth for a long time, and therefore the effect itself.

Lipofilling after breast replacement (especially in thin women) allows you to eliminate the contouring effect of the implant and achieve the most natural result. In addition, improving skin turgor will help delay breast ptosis (sagging), which occurs due to age-related changes or after pregnancy due to stretching and sagging skin. An additional plus is the ability to make stretch marks on the chest, which are difficult to get rid of, less noticeable.

Lipofilling after a facelift (facelift, endoscopic forehead lift) will help correct residual wrinkles, facial features and give the skin the glow of moisturized and healthy skin. The fact is that adipose tissue’s own adipocytes contain stem cells. They stimulate the production of fibroblasts, collagen and elastin fibers.

When lipofilling can be done - aesthetic indications:

  • Lack of volume – you would like to slightly enlarge your breasts, buttocks, lips, cheekbones, lower legs, chin, etc.
  • Imperfection of the contours of the figure - you can make the contour of the buttocks smoother or, conversely, sporty, and the facial features more sculpted, etc.
  • Flabby, dry skin that has lost its tone and healthy glow;
  • Painful thinness;
  • Wrinkles (facial wrinkles, nasolabial folds, nasolacrimal groove, purse-string wrinkles, “crow’s feet”), etc.
  • Jaws and loose skin after radical weight loss;
  • Asymmetry of the face or body;
  • Sunken temples;
  • Scarring;
  • Striae (stretch marks);
  • Dark spots;
  • Dark circles under the eyes and signs of aging of the skin in the periorbital area;
  • After plastic surgery - blepharoplasty (dry skin and wrinkles in the eyelid area), endoprosthetics of the breasts and buttocks (contouring of implants with a lack of own fatty tissue), facelift.

To determine if this surgery is right for you, you can schedule an in-person or online consultation with a plastic surgeon.

Facial lipofilling

With the help of facial lipofilling (nanolipofilling), a plastic surgeon can solve two fundamental problems at once:

  1. Contour plastic of facial features
    , correction of asymmetry and the consequences of injuries, increasing the volume of lips, chin, cheekbones, eliminating the effect of sunken temples.
  2. Moisturizing and rejuvenating the skin
    , eliminating age spots and scars.

Lipofilling eyelids

(upper / lower) will help get rid of “bags” and dark circles under the eyes, which arise due to too thin and translucent skin in this area, the effect of “sunken” eyes and wrinkles. Fatty fiber is introduced according to the principle of fillers, filling cavities, smoothing the skin and stimulating the regeneration of a new, more elastic layer.

Lip augmentation using lipofilling

- a good alternative to fillers with hyaluronic acid. In this way, you can get the desired volume, a natural result with smooth and moisturized skin, and the result of lip lipofilling lasts for many years.

Lipofilling of cheekbones

allows you to get rid of signs of age-related changes in the cheek-zygomatic area. This procedure is used by mature and young patients. Cheekbone augmentation using lipofilling can give the face more sculpted, sensual and seductive features.

Chin lipofilling

is popular among the stronger sex who want to muscularize their facial features - to make them more courageous, healthy and strong-willed. But this procedure may also have another aesthetic purpose. With the help of chin lipofilling, it is possible to make the contour of the lower third of the face more clearly defined and tightened, to emphasize the angles of the lower jaw and chin. In addition, minor post-traumatic defects and asymmetries can be corrected in this way.

Forehead lipofilling

- an effective remedy against wrinkles and deep horizontal folds. After the injection of fat, the skin of the forehead is smoothed out - this is a preventive blow to the further development of visible signs of aging, which will help reduce the number of injections and trips to the cosmetologist. Similarly, facial lipofilling shows good results in the fight against nasolabial folds and jowls.

Lipofilling after
blepharoplasty , facelift and endoscopic forehead lift
can improve the aesthetic result of the operation, as we already talked about at the beginning.

Recovery period

After the procedures, there will be slight swelling on the hands in the first few days. Also, the patient may experience pain for several hours. To get rid of discomfort as quickly as possible and speed up the healing process, experts recommend following certain rules.

For at least two days, surgeons do not recommend wetting your hands with water. Puncture sites should be regularly treated with a disinfectant. For 1-1.5 weeks you need to protect your hands from any impact. In other words, it is prohibited to wash floors and dishes, cook food, do laundry, lift weights, play sports and perform other physical activities.

During rehabilitation, hands should be protected from heat exposure. You need to avoid visiting the bathhouse, sauna, solarium, going to the beach and taking hot baths.

Smoking and alcohol remain prohibited.

Breast lipofilling

Most often it is performed to easily correct the volume and shape of the breast, and correct asymmetry. You can enlarge your breasts using lipofilling in one procedure by no more than 1 size - that’s how much fat can be transplanted and evenly distributed. To achieve a more noticeable result, the procedure can be repeated 1-3 times. Therefore, if you are planning augmentation mammoplasty, would like to enlarge your breasts by 2-3 sizes and get a beautiful shape in 1 operation, breast endoprosthetics is more suitable for you than lipofilling.

Men also do breast lipofilling to emphasize the athletic contour of the pectoralis major muscles.

Lipofilling of the buttocks

You can enlarge your buttocks and improve their shape not only with the help of implants, but also with lipofilling - the optimal technique is selected based on the individual anatomical characteristics and wishes of the patient. For example, with the help of lipofilling of the buttocks, you can simulate lush roundness with a smooth hip contour or give them a visually more toned, athletic shape. In addition, lipofilling of the buttocks allows you to correct asymmetry and improve the result of gluteoplasty with implants, making it more natural and the condition of the skin better.

Hand lipofilling

Beautiful hands are a person’s calling card, and pigment spots, gaps, bones and tendons appear on the surface of the skin (usually this is associated with age and thinness), this technique comes to the rescue. Lipofilling of the hands allows you to fill the deficit of soft tissues from the dorsum of the hand to the proximal phalanges of the fingers. Fat cells are injected under local anesthesia. As a result of lipofilling of the hands, wrinkles are also smoothed out, and age spots become less noticeable. The procedure is popular not only among women, but also among men. After lipofilling of the hands, the wrists and hands look more youthful, masculine and elegant. The cannula mark can easily be hidden under shirt cuffs or a watch strap, and it goes away within a week.

Carrying out

Transplantation of adipose tissue into the arms is carried out in several successive stages.

Collection of biomaterial

The procedure requires the patient's own fat, which is pumped out from places where its loss will not significantly affect the volume. Typically, the most common donor areas are the abdomen, inner thighs, or knees.

For aspiration, the surgeon takes a cannula or syringe with a thin needle. First, a special pre-prepared solution is injected into the place from which the fat will be pumped out, which will allow the necessary biomaterial to be separated.

Adipocyte purification

The resulting liquid goes through several stages of purification until it reaches a certain state required for transplantation into the hands. To accomplish this task, a medical centrifuge is used. There are several ways to prepare an autograft. However, they all have one task in common - to preserve the structure of fat cells and remove unnecessary impurities.

Transplantation

The resulting material is drawn into a sterile syringe and injected from the back of the hands under the skin. During the work, linear technology is used. To implant adipose tissue, the doctor uses cannulas with rounded ends.

To correct each arm, 20 to 30 milliliters of fat is required. The material is distributed under and above the vessels, without damaging them.

It is recommended to administer a volume slightly larger than required, since some of the fat undergoes resorption during the recovery period.

Facial lipofilling

Facial lipofilling is a plastic surgery that allows you to correct contours using the patient’s own fat.

At the final stage, the punctures are treated with an antiseptic solution and a fixing bandage is applied to the hands, which is removed a day after the intervention.

Hand lipofilling takes 60-90 minutes.

How is lipofilling surgery performed?

The lipofilling operation takes place under general anesthesia (or local, depending on the correction areas and indications). At the first stage, fat cells are collected - liposuction of pre-marked areas. In our clinic, high-precision vibration liposuction is performed using the latest PAL Liposculptor

. Compared to its predecessors, it virtually eliminates bleeding, the formation of tubercles and irregularities in the subcutaneous layer, and allows you to preserve viable fatty tissue for transplantation. After liposuction, the fat goes through a preparation stage, after which it is transplanted into areas that require correction.

Manipulations for the collection of fat cells (liposuction) are carried out with thin cannulas from 4 to 5 mm in diameter, in accordance with international standards. During lipofilling, fat is injected with needles.

What is lipofilling?

A modern surgical method for correcting age-related changes in the face and body contours by transplanting the patient’s own fat cells. Adipose tissue acts as a natural filler (“filler”). Using the patient's own fat tissue completely eliminates the risk of transplanted fat rejection. As a result, lost volume is replenished, wrinkles and folds are smoothed, anatomical features are corrected, and asymmetry is eliminated. Lipofilling improves skin nutrition, launches the processes of its regeneration and rejuvenation.

Lipofilling at the Kivach clinic

Plastic surgeons at the clinic recommend that you undergo the “Body Cleansing” program before surgery. This normalizes the physiological balance and minimizes possible risks of complications during surgery and during the recovery period.

After surgery, patients are offered comprehensive programs to accelerate the healing of postoperative wounds and reduce swelling. These programs can reduce the rehabilitation period by an average of 2 times.

Where is it used?

Facial lipofilling

Age-related changes are eliminated. The forehead, cheeks, chin, eyelids acquire the correct shape, nasolabial folds are smoothed out, crow's feet disappear, and enlarged pores are narrowed. Lips acquire natural richness and volume.

Lipofilling of the buttocks

The buttocks gain volume and their sagging is eliminated.

Lipofilling of hands

Age-related changes in the skin of the hands are eliminated, wrinkles are smoothed out. Protruding veins and tendons are corrected.

Breast lipofilling in women

The breasts acquire a natural shape and the desired volume. Lipofilling is an alternative to breast augmentation with implants.

Lipofilling technique

The operation is preceded by an examination by a plastic surgeon, laboratory and instrumental studies.

Download our guide to find out what tests you need to complete.

Depending on the volume of removal and injection of adipose tissue, the operation is performed under general or local anesthesia with intravenous sedation (putting the patient to sleep). Before the operation begins, the surgeon makes a marking according to which the adipose tissue is introduced. Lipofilling is performed according to a protocol that includes 2 stages.

1 Removal and processing of adipose tissue from the donor area. Small punctures of 2-3 mm in size are made in the abdomen, thighs or other areas (as agreed with the patient). Through these punctures, mini-liposuction is performed using a cannula with a blunt tip (liposuction is the suction of excess fat tissue). Fat material is processed and purified from various impurities. The resulting content is divided into 3 fractions:

  • the top layer is oil from damaged fat cells;
  • middle layer – concentrated fat cells, stem cells, growth factors;
  • the bottom layer contains blood elements and anesthetic.

The middle layer is used for transplantation to any part of the body.

2 Injection of adipose tissue. Purified adipose tissue is injected through small punctures made in the natural folds of the skin or in the hair growth area. Special cannulas ensure precise and uniform distribution of natural filler without damaging tissue, blood vessels and nerve fibers. To achieve maximum effect, processed fat is injected into the areas to be corrected at different levels. Punctures are often sealed with a special surgical plaster.

After lipofilling, there are no scars left, the primary result is noticeable 1-2 weeks after the operation, and is finally assessed after 6 months.

During the consultation, the clinic’s plastic surgeon will listen to your wishes, conduct an examination,, if necessary, prescribe additional studies and suggest correction methods that best suit you.

Question answer

  1. When can the result be assessed?
  2. The primary effect is observed 1-2 weeks after the operation. The final result can be assessed in about six months.
  3. What result should you expect?
  4. As a result of the operation, the effect of volumetric rejuvenation is achieved. The transplanted fat effectively restores lost volume, filling wrinkles and folds. An additional positive effect is provided by stem cells and other biologically active substances contained in the transplant. They release substances and molecules that stimulate blood circulation, which improves tissue quality and promotes rejuvenation. Age-related changes in the face and body are eliminated, aesthetic imperfections are corrected, and excess fat deposits are eliminated. 50-90% of fat cells survive. If necessary, it is recommended to repeat the procedure.
  5. Is the operation safe?
  6. The method is relatively safe. During the operation, the patient's own fat tissue is transplanted, which reduces the risk of allergic reactions and rejection of the transplanted fat. The procedure is low-traumatic and easily tolerated.
  7. How to prepare for surgery?
  8. Before lipofilling, you must undergo a doctor's examination and a number of laboratory and instrumental studies.

    Important doctor's advice:

    • One month before surgery, stop smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages.
    • 2 weeks before surgery - do not take painkillers or cough suppressants.

  9. How long is the rehabilitation period?
  10. The duration of the recovery period depends on the scope of the operation and the individual characteristics of the body. After surgery, patients can return to their room on their own.

    Important doctor's advice:

    • In the first days after surgery, give up an active lifestyle and avoid excessive physical activity.
    • For 1.5 months after surgery, avoid visiting the bathhouse and solarium.

  11. To shorten the rehabilitation period, the patient is offered comprehensive programs that will accelerate the processes of wound healing and tissue restoration.

  12. Are there any complications?
  13. Complications rarely develop. Swelling is possible, which goes away on its own after an average of 7-10 days. To reduce the risk of complications, it is recommended to undergo the “Body Cleansing” program before surgery.
  14. What guarantees the success of the operation?
    • Certified plastic surgeons.
  15. Compliance with medical standards.
  16. Completing the “Body Cleansing” program before surgery minimizes the risk of complications.
  17. Completing any of the comprehensive programs after surgery will shorten the rehabilitation period.

Recovery after lipofilling

Lipofilling is a minimally traumatic plastic surgery without incisions or scars. Within 3 days, and possibly earlier, the patient returns to his normal rhythm of life. Swelling and bruising from the cannula disappear within 7-14 days. Recovery after lipofilling does not require any special measures. If the patient has undergone body liposculpture, special compression garments should be worn for some time after the operation. You can speed up recovery after lipofilling using the recovery programs of our cosmetology center.
