Thread face lifting is a minimally invasive procedure that eliminates age-related changes and restores lost elasticity and firmness to the skin. To carry out the technique, threads made of L-lactide and polypropylene are used, which allow you to achieve a lifting effect after the 1st session.
In our clinic, Aptos threads and 3D mesothreads are used for face lifting. Thanks to them, doctors are able to achieve a pronounced effect comparable to the results of a surgical operation.
Contraindications for thread lifting
- Excessive skin ptosis.
- Obesity, the presence of a large amount of fatty tissue on the face.
- Skin diseases.
- Infectious diseases.
- Pregnancy and lactation period.
Before carrying out the procedure, a mandatory consultation with a cosmetologist is required to identify possible contraindications.
It is worth noting that the procedure has no age restrictions, but is considered ineffective for patients over 50 years of age. The optimal age for performing the technique is 30-45 years.
What it is
Thread blepharoplasty involves the introduction into the skin of a thread that is biologically compatible with the skin of the eyelids. They move the skin in the desired direction and fix it in a certain position. Thanks to such manipulations, wrinkles are smoothed out and the skin looks younger.
Before making an appointment for thread blepharoplasty, it is recommended to undergo an examination by an ophthalmologist.
The doctor must exclude any pathologies that may complicate the procedure. The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia, but in rare cases, a specialist may recommend medicated sleep.

How thread lifting works
- Lifting with APTOS threads.
- Lifting with 3D mesothreads.
This line includes absorbable, non-absorbable and universal threads that are suitable for complex lifting. APTOS threads contain combined acids that activate the process of collagen production and allow you to achieve the effect of biorevitalization. As a result of the effect, tissue elasticity is restored, the skin acquires elasticity and a healthier shade.
The required effect is achieved by introducing a thin absorbable material using a cannula. In this case, the soft tissues are not injured, but are gently moved apart, which reduces the rehabilitation period. During the procedure, spiral (having a “memory” effect), needle (with special notches), screw (linear threads twisted in a spiral) or smooth (without notches or knots) mesothreads can be used.
Upper blepharoplasty in a clinic in Moscow
It is known that with age, the condition of the skin and other tissues in the eye area worsens. Swelling, “bags,” and blue or purple circles appear. An absolute indication for blepharoplasty is the presence of excess skin. This is manifested by the presence of additional wrinkled skin folds in the upper eyelids, which gives the face and gaze a gloomy, gloomy expression. Often the reason that prompts a patient to see a doctor is the usual inconvenience in applying makeup and increased eye fatigue - excess skin of the upper eyelids simply interferes with normal vision, which usually worsens in the evening. The skin of the upper eyelid can sag for two reasons.
- Firstly, it is ptosis, caused by loss of firmness and elasticity of the skin.
- Secondly, this may be associated with the process of drooping of the forehead and eyebrows, usually their outer part.
This sagging occurs due to age-related processes in the internal structures of the face. Fat bags in the upper eyelids migrate and droop, the eye muscle loses elasticity and contracts inward, and the bone loses volume. The loss of internal support deprives the skin of support, and we get severe ptosis of the upper eyelid. Obviously, upper eyelid surgery with simple excision of excess skin will not improve the situation much. Yes, we can remove drooping and sagging skin; removing fat will remove swelling of the eyelid for a while. BUT literally just a year later, patients notice rounding of the eyelids, sunken eyes, there is clearly a lack of adipose tissue and excessive thinning of the skin of the upper eyelids. We do not get young eyes, but we clearly have the result of operated upper eyelids. Also, such an operation does not solve the position of the outer part of the eyebrow; it still hangs and creates an unsightly impression of the outer eyelid drooping down.

That is why, when diagnosing problems of the upper eyelid, we always discuss with the patient the aging processes of the entire face that accompany this problem. And when performing blepharoplasty of the upper eyelids, in our clinic we perform a complex of operations. It includes both traditional blepharoplasty and lipofilling of the upper eyelid and eyebrow lifting. This comprehensive approach allows for a complete reconstruction of the upper third of the face and restores youth and beauty to it.
Features of the event
Thread lifting, like other cosmetic procedures, requires a mandatory consultation with a cosmetologist. This is necessary so that the specialist can determine the degree of age-related changes and select the right type of threads to correct deficiencies.
The procedure is then performed according to the following scheme:
- Skin cleansing . The face is cleansed of cosmetics, dirt and dust. If necessary, special markings are applied in correction zones.
- Use of anesthesia . Local anesthesia is usually used, which eliminates all discomfort during the insertion of the threads.
- Installation of threads . The fibers are placed under the skin at the desired angle, and residues that have “come out” to the surface are eliminated.
- Fastening under the skin . The threads are secured at the moment of their insertion due to special notches on the surface.
At the end of the procedure, the puncture sites must be treated with an antiseptic.
What problems does blepharoplasty not solve?
Patients need to understand that there are a number of aesthetic problems that may be located in the periorbital area, but, nevertheless, cannot be solved with plastic surgery.
- dark circles under the eyes – can be caused by shadows or changes in skin color. If the dark circles are shadows caused by bulging fat, blepharoplasty will correct this defect. If there is a change in skin color, then this operation will not help. To solve this problem, we offer chemical peeling and lipofilling.
- tear troughs – blepharoplasty does not directly affect them. Fat-sparing blepharoplasty solves the problem only partially; the best solution is a combination of plastic surgery with lipofilling.
- wrinkles in the corners of the eyes are not eliminated with blepharoplasty; they are treated with non-surgical methods (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin).
- Zygomatic bags - bulges on the cheeks under the eyelids. They are often confused with swelling of the eyelids due to their close location. Methods for correcting sufs (from English: SOOF-suborbicularis orbital fat) are selected depending on the degree of their severity. So, we recommend lipofilling, which allows you to make them less noticeable, or perform a cheek-midface lift
Types of threads for lifting
- Surgical non-absorbable . Designed to tighten and rejuvenate the face by creating a reinforcing frame. Used to correct a double chin and eliminate serious asymmetry. The effect of their use lasts for 2-3 years.
- Absorbable (liquid) . They allow the formation of a collagen framework under the skin and are suitable for correcting sagging and minor ptosis. They completely dissolve in the body after 6-9 months, the effect can last for up to 2 years.
Recovery period
Its duration is determined by the individual characteristics of the patient. To speed up rehabilitation and healing, you should adhere to the following recommendations for 7-10 days:
- exclude any impact on the area around the eyes;
- do not sleep on your stomach;
- do not use cosmetics ;
- do not sunbathe , swim or visit the bathhouse, sauna, solarium;
- exclude cosmetic procedures;
- limit physical activity.
The younger the patient, the faster the regeneration process takes place. It is recommended to carefully cleanse the skin and use antiseptic products. Cosmetologists also advise limiting the use of facial expressions.
How is the procedure performed?
- Use of absorbable threads . Currently, self-absorbable materials are most often used for thread lifting, since they have minimal thickness and are suitable for correcting areas with sensitive skin (for example, on the eyelids and neck). The threads are distributed along massage lines in the area requiring correction. For comprehensive rejuvenation, several varieties are used at once: smooth, with notches and “spirals”.
- Use of non-absorbable threads . Such materials are used to correct serious age-related changes in patients aged 40-45 years. They are introduced into the most problematic areas along massage lines.
Usually the procedure takes no more than 1-2 hours, regardless of the materials used. The rehabilitation period lasts from 10 to 30 days (absorbable threads require less recovery time). During this time, it is recommended to adhere to the following rules:
- Regularly treat puncture sites with an antiseptic.
- Try to touch your face with your hands as little as possible.
- Refuse to visit the bathhouse, solarium and sauna.
Lower blepharoplasty in a clinic in Moscow
In young patients, the skin of the eyelids is elastic and taut, there are no wrinkles at the outer corner of the eye (“crow’s feet”) and deep longitudinal skin folds along the upper eyelid. At a young age, the lower eyelid has a short transverse dimension and a slightly concave shape. The transition to a smooth curve of the cheek in young faces begins higher. With age, due to involution and downward displacement of the subcutaneous fatty tissue, the edges of the orbit begin to protrude, and the convexity of the cheek decreases. The appearance of bags under the eyes is associated with weakening and stretching of the orbital septum and the development of pseudohernias. The nasolacrimal and molar grooves at the junction of the orbicularis oculi muscle into the zygomatic tissue can be expressed to varying degrees. Puffiness of the lower eyelids is usually associated with bulging of the orbital tissue, hypertrophy of the orbicularis oculi muscle, or tissue edema. Horizontal eyelid wrinkles (laughter lines) form with age due to the vertical shortening of the orbicularis oculi muscle. Eliminating these age-related changes is the main goal of lower blepharoplasty. The impression your face makes on others largely depends on the condition of your eyelids; their condition reveals a person’s age.
Patients often expect lower eyelid blepharoplasty to solve all cosmetic problems caused by age-related changes or related to the anatomical features of the facial structure.
However, when diagnosing this zone, it is important to perceive it not as a separate part of the face, but as an element of the entire middle zone. We believe that a rejuvenating effect can only be achieved by preserving the complex - lower eyelid - cheek - cheekbone, in which there should be no visible boundaries or transitions. And the youth and beauty of this zone directly depend on its volume and fullness.
In the case of hernias, we perform fat-sparing surgery, not removing the hernia, but straightening the fat in the tear trough. We also resort to lipofilling of the lower eyelids and align this area relative to the cheek. When there is no excess skin, lower eyelid blepharoplasty is performed transconjunctivally. An incision is made on the inner surface of the lower eyelid. By the way, it is invisible even immediately after the operation. When excess skin exists, a standard incision is made along the ciliary margin. The tone of the lower eyelid can be improved using canthopexy, in which incisions are made at the outer corners of the eyes.

Thread lifting is a minimally invasive procedure that allows you to achieve quick and effective correction of facial contours. The technique is performed on an outpatient basis and does not require surgical intervention. | Before the procedure, consultation with a cosmetologist is necessary. |
Properly performed lifting does not leave scars or marks on the skin. | When using threads outside the hairline, the injection sites may be noticeable upon careful examination. |
The effect after the introduction of threads is visible immediately and lasts for a long time. | After complete dissolution of the threads, they will need to be reintroduced or the use of non-absorbable materials. |
The method has a short recovery period. | In some cases, swelling of the face may persist for 1-2 weeks. |
After administration, regulation of the synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid in tissues is observed, which prolongs natural youth. | The effect is maintained only if you follow proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. |
